Pixie Lott Discography Rate | We have a winner!

The studio version of I Need a Dollar was a free download at Amazon Music

Still far too expensive!

I don't think I've ever been a lowest scorer before beyond that 0 for Nickelback!

My commentary was:

I Need a Dollar - 2.5 - This song is generally an annoying earworm I turn off, but at least the original has that bluesy production/voice that makes it pretty - this one strips both back and it’s a big no!

Yep! Stand by it!

I know sis has a few terrible songs (that we're getting rid of, thank you), but not at a Nickelback level ddddd.

But yeah, a 2.5 from you is almost a 0 from me, so that says a lot! Also, we're score twins this time.

Steven's take: "No song title captures Pixie's present-day career like this one."
Scream!
That's why she's been judging on The Voice Kids for a while, right? Bills need to get paid.

What about your takes?

Ok I figure if I intend to finish this by Xmas (or at least by New Year's) I better do more eliminations a day, at least in the beginning, so here we are!

Ok this one was... interesting when it was first released

At least the music video, 'cause it was never a single and it is nowhere to be found in any streaming platform these days...

Ok, so the video for A Real Good Thing was released in August of 2016 and in the description of the video it read that it was going to stay in Pixie's Youtube channel for two months only, and then taken down. I mean... why? Wtf marketing team! But well... even in the middle 2018 the video could still be watched in her official channel, so not only they had a terrible idea, they didn't follow the plan!

And yes, it's another cover! It's a version of We've got a Good Thing Going by Michael Jackson, slightly modified to give the song a female perspective (changing pronouns mainly) and adding Shaggy's verses for a more beachy and reaggae-ish vibe.

Well, Pixie is a model of Select Model management and according to them, the idea of the video was to create a piece of content which was fun, but also showcased some of the best talents of the agency, including Pixie, of course, and her boyfriend Oliver Cheshire.

So basically, it was model agency catalogue in form of a music video! Good job label, at least we got some eye candy.

Well, to be honest, I don't think the song is that bad. But tell me your thoughts!

My commentary was:

A Real Good Thing (feat. Shaggy) - 7.3 - The video is a little cringe in parts but kinda cute song!

Now you mention the concept - this makes a lot more sense!

I find this a better executed example of the "showcasing models" idea - whether it was aimed that way or not..

You Win is the second to last track of the standard version of Young Foolish Happy.

It's actually a cute love song with lyrics like "La la la la la la la la it's yours every time you win", but might have suffered for its position on the tracklist.

We've said (and will say more times) that Young Foolish Happy might be a way too long pop album for some, so a few tracks get lost in the way and unfortunately get that filler status.

The bottom 40 can leave in a week or so. No need for that to take long. Nobody cares I hope.
Ask and you shall receive!

So Pixie's version to the Tina Tuner classic was included in the compilation Turn Her Up. The name has nothing to do with her debut album title: it included 29 covers of women by women, to raise awarness for International Women's Day in 2019.

Well, I'll just say you need to be brave enough to take on a classic like What's Love Got To Do With It.
