What a meh song.

I don't know, she seems to be very lost musically to me. The last few attempts at having a comeback were horrid so I was expected something strong to lead the new album and this just isn't it... oh well.

I was really rooting for her, but with this song…not terrible, but I mean, for a first single? To which label is she signed?

I actually quite like this. She suits this style and seems to be most comfortable doing it. It's not like she has any hope of music doing big numbers so it's better to stick to what she loves rather than a failed attempt to nab a hit.

The sentiment behind 'I'm just somebody's daughter' feels a bit of a weird one. I saw a campaign recently calling out this term in the context of misogyny, changing 'she's somebody's daughter/sister/mum' etc to 'she's somebody.'

Pixie has always been a bit hit and miss for me, and I'm not sure this is one of the hits.

Her interview on the Right Back At Ya! podcast is nice for anyone interested. It's a bit of a surface level runthrough of her career but she's still so likeable.

It kind of puts the album/new sound into context too even if the single is just okay, I think the album could be better as a body of work.

Sounds promissing, to be honest! I think this one will be her most cohesive record which is something she has always been pointed at.
