PJ Retro 103: RELAXED (poison)! Nobody knows who Sandra or Dalida are. **WINNER REVEALED!**

Martha and The Vandellas 'I'm Ready for Love'

Reason: the bass-line of the song has been prominently sampled on a UK #1 single (The Jam's 'Town Called Malice'), and the band have had 24 US Hot 100 singles.

Embarrassed to report that this was me -- Aside from the reasons given here, I'd completely forgotten that I already entered a cover of this song in a previous relaxed round!

This one didn't even make it onto the veto spreadsheet ddd.

Garbage 'The World Is Not Enough'

Reason: C'mon...

Surprisingly this wasn't one of my 3 vetoes but whoever sent this masterpiece has impeccable taste.

As for my actual vetoes:
The first one was Tina Cousins and "Pray", a song I very recently discovered and adored upon first listen.
Still bitter it got vetoed considering it was a perfect pick for this type of round in my mind. I was being all happy upon being told the song passed veto. However, a day later, I got alerted that the song is actually a veto fff. Basically it would've passed veto if it charted at #21 instead of #20 (not to mention Tina passed veto with a non-hit in a regular PJ Retro round) so yeah, should explain why I'm bitter about that.

I already got vetoed with that Mono song because of the Emma Bunton cover which is completely reasonable (my back up song of theirs ended up being my first PJ Retro winner so there's that), and I thought it had a chance of appearing here. Apparently not.

And finally the Dollar song, which I believe @Disco Blister attempted to send to a regular round I was hosting and was promptly vetoed. I was already familiar with "It's Nature's Way (No Problem)" from their singles rate and I think it was my fave discovery there (thinking about it, would've actually fit the last round with its SAW type of sound actually). But that rate is most likely what made them a veto here too.

But I'm not giving up!

Probably a cover of Donna Summer Japan-only single is out then. Do I even re-submit? Am I hosting PJXtra?

It would have passed if it were up to me nn
