PJ RETRO 86: Diner

Can we be told what the food connection is in the entries where it's less obvious? No idea about some of these.

Certainly (and remember that I was willing to basically shoehorn in any meaning I could find, if it meant not hosting a flop round):

4-3-1 - Animal (animal crackers, and carnivores eat animal meat)
Rainbow Team - Bite The Apple (fruit)
Silver Apples - Oscillations (fruit)
Cibo Matto - Beef Jerky (dried meat)
Candy Girls feat. Sweet Pussy Pauline - Wham Bam (candy)
Evelyn "Champagne" King - Out Of Control (beverage)
Dolly Dots - Keep On Running (candy)
Tanita Tikaram - Feeding The Witches (act of eating/drinking)
Chayanne - Fiesta En América (an event where you eat, and a brand of spices)
Fläskkvartetten & Nina Persson - Som glas (fläsk = Swedish for pork)
Christian Fry - You Got Me (French fries)
Throbbing Gristle - Hamburger Lady (meat and bread)
A La Carte - Ring Me Honey (and “a la carte” also applies)
The Flaming Lips - She Don't Use Jelly (sandwich spread)
Kim Harlow - Allo réseau (Kim is the romanized version of 김, Korean for dried seaweed e.g. kimchi)
Kids In The Kitchen - Bitter Desire (place where you cook food)
Regurgitator - Kong Foo Sing (brand of fortune cookie in Australia)
Luscious Jackson - Ladyfingers (dessert pastry)
Lime - Your Love (fruit)
Milk Inc. - Promise (beverage)
Voice Of The Beehive - Moon Of Dust (Moon Cheese is a brand of snacks in North America, and beehives are where honey is made)
Papaya - Hero (fruit)
Pepper Girls - So Cold As ice (botanical fruit, but culinary vegetable)
Pink Lady - Kiss In The Dark (type of apple)
@tak - Pizza Boy (mangia!)
Joyce Sims - Walk Away (dim sims is a dumpling-like snack in Australia)
Anna Book - Killsnack (in this song snack refers to talking, but in English snack is a category of food)
dEUS - Suds & Soda (beverage) (and Suds is a nickname for beer)
Strawpeople - Spoiler (use a straw to drink your soda)
Wild Strawberries - Trampoline (fruit)
Vanessa Daou - Two To Tango (cocktail)
OTT - The Story Of Love (we love drinking tea and spilling it)
Thomas Dolby - Europa And The Pirate Twins (brand of bread products in North America)

I know this probably doesn’t need to be said, but just in case:
To all voters: All of the entries were deemed by me as the host to fit the theme, so please do not penalize a song if you think it is less apt for the theme than others.

I'd never heard of this so I googled it.

The way this packaging looks like half of the snack aisle at Target nn

And please don’t forget about the

Side Theme

The number 86 is used in restaurants as a way to signal that something should be excluded. A waiter might tell the cook “The customer wants a cheeseburger, 86 the tomato.” Since we are in Round 86, it’s only appropriate that we think about something we’d want to 86.

At some point during the voting period, I would like you to send me the name of a song that you wish you could 86 from one of your favorite artists’ discographies.* Also, if you are a regular RETRO participant, feel free to send me one of your previous entries that you wish you could 86 from your RETRO-legacy. I will share these at the reveal.
*Remember that the artist and song may be from any era, pre- or post-2000!

I would be remiss if I didn't point out several of these have additional theme references in their names:

Cibo Matto = "Crazy Food" in Italian
Throbbing Gristle = Something you don't want to bite into in your chicken pie
Luscious Jackson = A word you might use to describe a juicy fruit
The Flaming Lips = What happens after eating a ghost pepper
Regurgitator = What you are when you've had too many passes at the buffet line

Thank you! All these double theme-fitting entries, so proud!!
