As for my entry, I decided to start the PJ Retro year with a bang. Bang Gang. I stumbled upon this Icelandic band a few years ago via some random trip hop suggestions, this was the introductory song:

Not long after that, I discovered two more songs from the same 1998 album and "So Alone" was one of them. Could likely be my fave out of the three. I adore the gradual build-up, eerie vibe, haunting melodies and the production with those bleep bloop elements, especially that intensely amazing final minute where the instrumental really picks up. Also one of the rare instances of my entry featuring male vocals.
It mentions both sky in sun in its lyrics, and alongside that cold wintery music video, it really seemed like a good fit for this theme. Hopefully the voters enjoyed it.

dd that's not true, though its not like I make predictions for each entry anyway, regardless of how much I enjoyed them. And you were definitely among the few potential submitters of The Hurricanes but I didn't exactly pinpoint it as such.

Went for a bit of double weather whammy with Summernight Magic (as my artist's name is even weather adjacent). Certainly one of the more talked about entries do its, ummmm, 'obvious inspiration'. Don't know that means for it, but I guess we'll see. Was always oddly surprised she was never entered here before.

Trine Rein has had a weird career. American born > Moved to Norway > Success there > Huge In Japan. Her wikipedia & website bio are a read! Discovered her years ago because of her versions of 'Torn' & 'Just Missed The Train'... and had an odd fascination with her since.

Anyways, I've wanted to submit her forever, so it worked out finally.

	3 points: Rebecca - フレンズ (Friends) My first entry pick was a Nokko solo song (Crazy Clouds) which I had no luck trying to upload, so I was glad to see someone submit something else by her (even if I prefer her 90s solo material).

The Call Me Nightlife album sporadically pops back up, but the I Will Catch U video never stays up on youtube for long (a major shame as it's sublime). I was so pleased to see her pop up here anyway.
