--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OMD hold off Streisand and ver Quo, but can they do the same with Bowie and UB40 next week? Kate Bush peaks at #4, while Linx and George Benson only enjoy a solitary week in the Top 10 as a major upheaval ensues. Roxy Music's latest single from the seminal Flesh & Blood is the highest of seven new entries at #16, and looks certain to emulate the Top 5 peaks of Oh Yeah and Over You. Blondie, by contrast, make a fairly subdued entrance at #24 on the back of consecutive Retrochart #1s in Atomic and Call Me.

Pick of the Pops will be focusing on 1980 next Saturday - it will either be the chart of w/e 01st Nov 1980 or 08th Nov 1980:

BBC Radio 2 on Saturday 5th November at 14.00 to 15.00 - and then available on i-player shortly afterwards
Should be a really good chart!

OMD nudge a spot closer to the top, they fall from the top on @Ironheade's chart but rise to the top on my own. Making it 3 charts simultaneously for the second week in a row. Their only hope to progress further is significant gains on @cityofdoomsday's chart while maintaining their position elsewhere.

Chartfile w/e 8th November 1980

The weeks are flying by now as are the number ones:
Just one week at the top for Babs with "Woman in love" which makes way for "Fashion" the second number one from David Bowie for 1980 following 'Ashes to Ashes"
OMD climb one to number three - they're currently number one on three Retrocharts but can they topple David Bowie on the overall Retrochart?
Also climbing are Motorhead, Kool and the Gang with Blondie as the highest new entry at number nine. Can "The tide is high" give them their hat trick this year?
The Police, Queen, Madness and Kate Bush go down the top ten.
Stay tuned to find out who will be number one for w/e 15th November 1980 !
