Finally! A fairly comfortable margin this week sees Bowie sail to the top for his first retrochart #1! After 3 weeks of waiting he's even attained the highest weekly total since Blondie's fourth and final week at number one with Call Me w/e 10/05/16.

Top ten commentary:
Congratulations to David Bowie. He finally gets his first number one of the Retrochart with "Ashes to Ashes" but he better watch out as Queen take a big jump into the top ten: "Another bites the dust" leaps from 16 to 4. There's only one other climber inside the top ten and that's Peter Gabriel's "Biko" at number ten. Diana Ross is stuck at number three with "Upside down"
All the other singles go down: Abba, ELO, Grace Jones, George Benson, The Jam and Billy Joel - does this mean there'll be a clear out in next week's top ten? - stay tuned!
