This is their seventh week at number one this year! No other act has been on top for so long. ABBA are closest and managed 6 weeks straight with The Winner Takes It All. This is also the lowest weekly points total of the year so far.

The position for Springsteen on my chart is incorrect....it was #29 and not #17....not sure if that made a difference to the chart, or just a "cosmetic" mistake.

Surprised that I'm Coming Out hasn't done better on the PJ Retrochart. Maybe because it's the third or fourth single from the album....it didn't do that well on mine, to be fair.

Chartfile:

Blondie make it two weeks at the top with "The tide is high" - but watch out Bruce Springsteen is right behind at number two with "Hungry heart", also climbing inside the top ten are Madness, Spandau Ballet and Queen. The Police shoot up from 51 to number 5 with "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da" - will it be next week's number one? John Lennon is a non-mover at number 4 with "(Just like) Startin' over" - the very sad news of his death earlier in the week could mean that he may end up at the summit next week?
Meanwhile going down are Kool and the Gang, Abba and Diana Ross - the last two are a surprise as I thought they would do much better on the Retrochart!
Stay tuned for next week's chart and who knows a new number one?

Corrected it and yes it's just cosmetic - excel formulas never let me down!

I think Diana's last song My Old Piano over performed somewhat in comparison maybe?
I liked My Old Piano much better, it actually under performed on my chart peaking in the mid range due to a lack of airplay in US but compiled several weeks in the chart since, It would get a second chart run around early 1982 again lower mid range.
