Apologies, somehow this track had two entries on last week's chart, both outside the top 100 when combined it would have landed as a new entry to the top 100 with a climb of 138-68.

Armatrading began performing at the age of 16 in the late 60s and by the early 70s was featured a few times on the Radio 1 John peel show. She signed to A&M records and her first and only UK chart hit to date Love & Affection went all the way to the UK top ten in 1976. With a little luck this may be her second ever top 40 entry next week?

@phoenix123 - you're doing a great job - I made loads of boo-boo's when @Eric Generic and I were hosting. It was Mr EG who sorted them all out!

The first chart entry for Joy Division is bittersweet, coming soon after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis who hung himself just before the group was due to fly out to america for a tour. The group first formed 4 years ago and their first album Unknown Pleasures was released last year. It is unclear what the remaining members of the group will do next.

Waterfalls is a strange one. I didn't remember it too much as being a Macca single as a kid, because the vocal/keyboard effects on it are very similar to the Korgis and their hit Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime. McCartney was definitely cocking an ear to European-influenced synthpop.

Plus the lyrics about polar bears are typically abysmal!

This New York disco group have struggled to chart on either side of the atlantic since their debut hit Native New Yorker hit US #21 and UK #5 in 1977. Their latest offering has already become their second biggest hit landing in the UK top 30 this week but is yet another disco track that seems to be struggling to dent the Billboard Hot 100.
