PJOPS Retrochart w/e 28/06/80

Chartfile Commentary for w/e 28/06/1980:

Siouxsie and the banshees make it two weeks at the top with "Christine" but the number two record was not that far behind in points: "Xanadu" by Olivia Newton John and ELO jump up from 6 to 2 this week - they must surely be heading for the number one spot next week! The biggest climber into the top ten are Bob Marley and the Wailers' "Could you be loved" climbing 20 places to number nine. Lipps Inc's "Funky Town" climbs one place to number six. Jona Lewie is stuck at number eight and everything else in the top ten is going down - former number ones from Gary Numan and The Cure as well as near misses from The Beat and OMD. Roxy Music also go down one place this week to number five with "Over you"

There are some interesting new entries this week outside the top ten which could enter it next week:

Number 19 Odyssey - use it up, wear it out
Number 24 Joy Division - Love will tear us apart
Number 39 Grace Jones - Private life (rumour has it she has covered Joy Division's "She's lost control" for future release!)
