Welcome to the 15th edition of PJOPS!

Obviously this time around we'll be doing Halloween songs, so bring your best graveyard smash! Rules are back to usual, pre-2000 songs only and no big names/hits. The songs don't have to be directly about or even reference Halloween, so if you think it simply fits the holiday or just has a spooky/eerie feel then try it! As long as you avoid Thriller, Ghostbusters & The Monster Mash I'm sure you'll be fine!

    • PM your entry to your beautiful host, moi! This must be done with the artist and song title, as well as a link to listen to your entry (YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.)

    Artist: Rihanna
    Song: Disturbia
    Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1mU6h4Xdxc

(then you'd get vetoed because she's quite popular and many of our entries will be older than her)

    Our lovely veto panel is...

    • Track your progress on the second post to see whether you've made it or not. If your entry is vetoed you will be notified by the host and may select a new entry.

    • After the submission deadline, voting will open. You vote using the Eurovision system, which is:

12 points for your favorite (me!!!!!!)
10 for your 2nd favorite (not me)
8 for 3rd favorite (not me)
7 for 4th favorite (not me)
6 for 5th favorite (not me)
5 for 6th favorite (not me)
4 for 7th favorite (not me)
3 for 8th favorite (not me)
2 for 9th favorite (not me)
1 for 10th favorite (also not me)

Then no points for everyone else and you of course cannot vote for your own entry. Some extra rules:

    • You must not reveal what your entry is until the voting period closes. You may also not discuss your votes until the host has revealed them.

    • Non-voting results in your points being halved for this contest and your disqualification from the next contest.

    • The winner of the contest may host the next round though this is not mandatory and this may be passed to the runner-up(s).

    Submission: October 17th - October 25th
    Voting: October 26th - November 8th
Results: November 9th (8PM GMT - unless y'all tell me otherwise because I'm on American time and not sure if that's the usual!)

    So get to submitting!

Amazing! Can't wait to start exploring potential choices
  4. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Ooh this theme is extremely promising.
  5. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Sent. Bam. I'm expecting lots of 80s goth goodness.

Though the graphics could include mummies, old witches, etc. to really convey the PJ Oldies theme (KIDDING.)

  6. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Mmm, yes. Spent some happy times browsing my library for musical horror to unleash on y'all.
  7. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

This is a difficult one. I'll really have to put my thinking cap on for this one.
  8. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Interesting. Not quite sure I'll have anything to enter yet.

Let's bring back this incredible song and probably my favourite entry from the PJOPS rounds I've entered for this occasion

    Should have won honestly.
  9. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

OK, just entered one of my all time favourites but I've a feeling it won't get past the veto panel, so I'll have to think of another song, just in case.
  10. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Ooh. It's all a bit Strictly Come Dancing, but a challenge nonetheless.
  11. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Is this gonna be like Halloween Week on X Factor when someone sang "Bleeding Love" because blood? (I sure hope not!)
  12. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

First person to submit Zombie gets a lifetime PJOPS ban.
  13. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

So psyched for this theme I love me some All Hallows Eve. My choice was immediately obvious so I'm entered!
  14. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

  15. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

    "It's in your head"

I've got a couple of ideas - will do my first attempt later on today!
  16. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Submitted my first attempt - fingers crossed!
  17. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

I'm submitting veto bait....I had a choice of big stars or goth classics that make all the compilation albums, but let's give it a try.
  18. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Ooh, excellent theme! I'll have to browse through my library for this one, but I'm already leaning towards one artist in particular.
  19. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Excellent theme choice vikeyeol, here for this. Even if I can't submit my fave.

  20. Re: PJOPS XV: ~Halloween Edition~

Thank y'all for the entries so far!

Everyone's just pending at the moment but I added all the veto statuses in the second post, will update as soon as I hear back from the panel. (Please tell me if I forgot your name or anything!)
