Podcasts

I listen to a few podcasts and am not a hater, oops!

The ones I like most are:
Normal Gossip - Fun stuff!
Charli XCX - Best Song Ever.
Dua Lipa: At Your Service
Getting Curious with Jonathan van Ness
Petty Crimes
Scamfluencers
Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware.

Lovely stuff. But can't really put on a podcast on when I'm working cuz then I read something and process none of it... It only works when I do something quite simple. But mostly I just switch to music again.

If anyone's a fan of Gossip Girl I can't recommend 'Gossip Kings' enough - 2 comedians from LA recap each episode and they are hilarious and have such good chemistry. They take the show seriously too which makes it even more enjoyable and their rating system is so catchy,

Not sure I could listen to a Dua Lipa podcast. ha.

Hey, I'm not usually one to plug stuff I'm working on but I've been developing a podcast recently with the incredible Miranda Sawyer (formerly of Smash Hits, generally being cool and above all else: that one interview with Gaga that was turned into that incredible fox Gif on here)

It's called Paper Cuts, basically looking through the papers and explaining why certain stories are given such prominence, exploring trends in daily news and lifting the lit on newsroom culture. We've been going 3 times a week for a couple of months now and we're slowly getting more confident with the premise and hoping to make it 5 days a week once we're able to solidify our base. Really proud of it, take a listen.

There’s a great podcast I listen to every week called Pop Pantheon where they deep dive into different popstars’ careers. The host is really knowledgeable and the guests are usually great and sometimes have really insightful takes, it’s well worth checking out.

True crime but make it fraud girls, i urge you to listen Scamanda. It is riveting.

Nn don't listen this, it fell apart after the second episode.

An update on the podcasts i follow.

MDWAP :- Gone but not forgotten. I still open a random episode here and there.

High Brow - Youtuber Mina Le's podcast where she talks about fashion, popular culture and honestly things that resonates with chronically online people like moi.

Faculty of Horror: The way i always advertise this podcast. This one is for horror girlies that want detailed dissections and analyses. The 2 hosts have an amazing chemistry and quite funny in their own way. One of them is also a Housewives stan and she brings up that in the most random places dd.

Maintenance Phase: This podcast is about debunking fad science around diet culture and bullshit nutrition advice, they also do deep dives on wellness influencers (they basically tear them down, rightfully) and i love those so much. The one about Rachel Hollis is just a scream from start to the end. The hosts are amazing, funny and great story tellers. It also helped me to appreciate my body a bitsy.

The Worst Bestsellers: Basically what the title says. It is just funny to listen these girls tear the shitty best sellers down. Another podcast i can recommend, if you enjoy this type of content is Celebrity Memoir Book Club.

The Bravo Docket: Two lawyers obsessed with Bravo shows, analyzing anything legal around the Bravo universe. It hits a niche interest of mine.

Yeah basically this. I'm on the lookout for more pods to get attached to so please fire away. I don't think i like interview pods that much though.

I’ve just gone through this and added almost every episode to my to listen to eisodes dddd

Is there a go-to app to record a podcast episode on your phone or computer? I need to record one from either zoom or teams.

The Ringer's Tea Time, Into It and Senior Superlatives all finished or about to be. So sad to see favourite podcasts vanish and not have them as a weekly staple anymore.

Thank you so much for this recommendation! The episodes on the more undersung Pop heroes are fascinating, especially loved the 50s/60s Girl Group episode.

A bit of a shame that R*ch J*zwiak is all over the Madonna episodes though, especially after that Madame X review

Say More with Amy Poehler as bad unaccredited therapist Dr? Sheila is such a pleasure. Loads of SNL guests doing improv, it's so funny in places.

The infidelity episode had me crying. And the little 20 min episode times are a gift.

Oh

Oh I’ve been loving this. The musical episodes when Fred sang EGGGGSSSS killed me.

I’ve been meaning to check this out so thank you for the reminder. You can just hear how much fun they’re having. I think it’s even funnier because I’m a big fan of Archer and Chris Parnell’s in it as Cyril and the ‘if I did it’ escapades are very Cyril Figgis.

Diva Dailies is one of my favorite podcasts currently.

They really go in depth when they review albums and their respective eras. They really do their homework and have great insight.

Just to say, the collapse of revenue from ads in podcasts has been pretty brutal this year. We're on the cusp of several big podcasts / podcast producers going bust before the end of Summer.

So if you have any fave podcasts with a patreon/substack/KoFi link and you have money to spare really consider throwing the girlies a couple of coins to help with costs.
