Pokémon

Okay so this answers some of my questions. So this DLC isn't like Sword and Shield where LITERALLY EVERYTHING was level 60 after becoming champion? The levels are actually varied so you CAN use a new team?
Oh no, it basically starts at Level 55 and goes up from there. The Pokémon I was catching were getting outstripped a few times.

I think it depends on when you begin? If you are champion it'll be higher levelled. I am only a little bit into the DLC and everything is around level 12. I seems like it will scale down if you aren't champion.

Post-game, they're not all exactly level 60, but they start at level 50ish. It basically means that you have first forms with really strong, but sometimes baffling, attacks (Hydro Pump/Earth Power Poliwag, anyone?)

The mix of super strong attacks and paper thin defences means you get one shot really easily and the high levels mean it takes a long time to grind a level to evolve your mons. The answer might be to use candy on the new catches so you have easy access to their less shit forms.

Is this a long-winded of saying I may have ragequit and lost all my progress after the indignity of being taken out by a fucking Brave Bird spamming Squawkabilly? Maybe_so.gif. Fuck you, Tomo the Courier, neither you or your birds will be seeing heaven.

I had a team of like 20 Pokémon I was cycling through during the main campaign and “post game” ddd. Debating if I want to start with a fresh team of 5/6 or just a few newbies. What is everyone else doing?

I’ve started with a new team of DLC exclusive Pokémon, though I kept my Huisan Zorua around for the first hour or so incase I ran into issues. So far

Miss Yanma has proven to be THAT girlie and has been decimating. Yanma Hive rise up!

OMG yass Yanma hive!

Also, Furrett being back, my other baby. Currently rocking Yanma, Ninetales, Furrett, Corphish at the moment and I can see some of them making it to my main team.

Thank you all! I will be putting the main story on hold and taking my team of level 30 pokemon over to Kitakami then!

I really need to push myself to finish Scarlet/Violet. It's just such a hard to look at game with how low budget it runs and looks most of the time. Once the bread and butter of Pokemon (the battling and the catching) charm wears a bit, I get so bored. Like it's 2023 and I just wish there was more to the games. Even if it's just a Battle Frontier to look forward to.

Finished The Teal Mask already and it has been very evocative of The Isle of Armor in the sense it feels like a teaser and that The Indigo Disk will be a lot more substantive.

One thing that is so noticeable with this DLC and the new region is just how...alive it feels. Paldea felt so empty and lifeless with endless amounts of either flat green or brown. Here you have different kinds of greenery, water, hills and all of it feels lived in too.

Finished the main DLC story and on the whole I actually really liked it. One thing that let it down was
Kieran, what a bratty twerp, and the TBC with him at the end made me cringe

The added swagger of going back to Paldea with an army of Pokemon seen there and some amazing new clothes though:

Not being lumbered with the hideous school uniform is such a boon.
