Pop Girls: Freshman Class Rate (Dua, Zara, Kehlani, Alessia, Extras)

2014

I feel like New Rules may suffer because it's so much newer than Be The One and Hotter Than Hell, though I can't see what will win out of those two. Symphony has to go next.

'Be The One' can go. It's just not as catchy as the rest of the songs remaining. Hotter Than Hell and New Rules are Dua's best.

Me when @Petty Mayonnaise started calling out for this song at like #20

This song was actually in 2nd place for the majority of the voting period until the last two voters handed in their scores.

#4

Zara Larsson - Symphony (feat. Clean Bandit)

Score: 9.038

Highest: 10 x 9 (@slaybellz, @GhettoPrincess, @Reboot, @send photo, @constantino, @SiduousIII, @sweetlikegrande, @bigfoots, @Stmated)
Lowest: 7 x 2 (@Sprockrooster, @Petty Mayonnaise )

"Symphony" went to #1 in a couple places and marks Zara's first #1 in the UK.

Sprockrooster (7) -
The 'I just want to be part of your symphony' seems to not fit with the accompanying beat and it annoys.

CorgiCorgiCorgi (9) - Tears and Rockabye were better.

Serg. (9) - Wore off it pretty quickly, but it's still stunning.

evilsin (9) - She sounds so nice here. Clean Bandit can deliver a bop from time to time, right?

Jersey (9.25) - Those chorus vocals can get a little shrill but this is one of Clean Bandit's finest.

Kuhleezi 9.5 – Always found the (Ijustwannabepartofyour)SYMPHONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! part a bit tew much. I mean, damn 8 notes before the proper melody kicks in? But it’s one of, if not THE best #1 we’ve had in ages so let me not complain tew much.

constantino 10 - The only good thing to come out of Zara in 2017 is this, tbh? Marina wishes she had a Clean Bandit collab of this calibre (and the streaming figures to match ddd). This is the ONLY thing preventing me from cancelling her entirely, tbh.

GhettoPrincess (10) - Adore this song, her vocals really suit it and it’s such a shame the rest of the album doesn’t reflect this kind of bop.

Reboot (10) - I feel like they popped this song at the end of the album as a reward for having crawled through 46 minutes of pop girl mediocrity.

The song isn't that great... But neither is Genesis and it made top ten. This is an okay spot for Symphony.

It's just so much better than the rest of the album which is dull/mediocre, don't regret that ten at all but happy to see Dua get the top spot.

From having the first couple songs cut to making the Top 5, what a comeback.
Your runner-up:
