Since the U.S. Politics thread is completely wonky at the moment, I thought we could start another thread and possibly merge it when the forum sorts itself out. Trump's interview was a disaster last night on Fox. I can't believe Chris Wallace actually went hard on him (for Fox standards) and repeatedly fact checked him throughout. I don't believe it will do much, but at least republicans can't flat out ignore how incompetent he is. In other news, Biden is leading with suburban voters 49% to Trump's 38% in a Fox News poll, 56% to 34% in a Quinnipiac poll, and 60% to 35% in a NPR/PBS/Marist poll which is...unheard of for a Democratic candidate. Sabato's Crystal Ball has updated it's predictions and has moved several "safe" Republican states to "likely Republican". The article also seemed to hint that not only is the senate leaning towards the Democrats, but the Democrats now have a chance at achieving a super majority. Obviously, this all needs to be taken with a heavy dose of salt seeing that we still have a hundred + days for things to go wrong. It was also explicitly mentioned that summer polling frequently overestimates Dems by a few points. Overall I'm a bit unsure of the accuracy of Sabato's predictions - I believe they were pretty accurate last election, but maybe @Sanctuary can better confirm. And that's what you missed on Glee!
I knew it was coming, but seeing this thread brought into existence is already triggering. God help us all.
Thinking about that day already gives me anxiety. Hoping I can take that day off work and drink myself into numbness. And even if things go well, they'll still make it a nightmare to kick that clown off the white house. Good luck to us all.
I’ve already booked the next day off so I can stay up and watch it live, which I’ve never done with any US Election night. Let’s be real, it is THE event of the year.
US Pundunties use this thread to discuss American politics until we get this forum chronology issue sorted. Thank you @Hyrulian!
Everyone who got mad about Joe Rogan liking Bernie Sanders being an independent but is going to vote for a Biden-led Democratic party where John Kasich is the new center has to cashapp me $5 immediately.
Seeing the #Resistance liberals defend this on Twitter is making my blood boil. I think I despise them more than Republicans at this point because Republicans are at least up front about their shitty politics. Fuck Kasich. Fuck the Democratic Party. Fuck all these people who care more about things being “”normal”” again instead of actually helping the poor marginalized people that are suffering and going to continue to suffer under a Biden administration.
I mean, of course he's going to have a fit if he loses. Trump's a spoiled child piloting an adult suit.
I....have tried to remain optimistic about the future of the Democratic Party and am prepared to vote for Biden with gritted teeth but jesus fucking christ what a nightmare. Throw the whole party away and try again.
