I'm genuinely looking into if it's possible to seek asylum elsewhere, especially given our president-elect said he would use the military on the 'enemies within' and we all know he means anyone who doesn't bow to him. I've never felt so lost and hopeless.

I keep remembering things he's promised to do; gutting the department of education, putting anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist Robert Kennedy Jr. in charge of the FDA, etc. and I'm just getting more and more upset and angry. This sent me over the edge earlier and I will never, ever let another man touch me again, even if he attempts to force himself on me. I'm tired of this country failing everyone but white men.

I keep coming back to the fact that the nightmare scenario actually in place, just waiting in the wings to hit the PLAY button. A regime that can and likely will successfully topple our ~240-year stretch of mostly peaceful power transitions in a constitutional republican democracy. We're gonna get big money, corporate-sponsored, social media "cool", aggressive, coordinated efforts to delegitimize opposition and sneakily chip away at the supremacy of the Constitution and common law. Fundamental stuff, things that have always just been part of the fabric of civics in the US, will at some point get in the way of their agenda. Once the Court is full of Trump installations? Forget about it.
The party who whined about states rights, about limited constitutionality, about free speech and freedom of religion, the sanctity of all life, all that shit 14 years ago? Remember that? That was fun. They'll actively deny they ever said that as Trump dangles their fantasy world in front of them.
I've cried twice at my desk; didn't get caught thankfully. It's been a tough day in the office too so that doesn't help. Gonna go dip a little early and touch grass, watch the sunset, and try to draw some strength from within myself that I definitely don't have right now.

I think the left has some serious rethinking to do about how they approach the topic of men, and I worry people are too uncomfortable to do that. There's a strong thread of misandry running through leftist messaging that I feel like people ignore or prefer not to address. Speaking as someone who wholly supports feminism as an equality movement, I don't have to dig very deep to find very loud voices that even put me off. This whole thing where people see the male Gen Z population flocking toward alt-right voices, throw their hands up and say, "Damn they must all hate women!" as though that's the end of that discussion is clearly ineffective.
