PopJustice News Network (PJNN): U.S. Politics [Hell] Channel

I feel a weird sense of apathy towards it all. I know apathy is a dangerous feeling, especially when there is so much at stake but right now that's how I feel.

There is less sense of mobilisation and actively wanting to fight this compared to when it first happened in 2016. You saw it in the rallies, marches, the way pop culture responded Trump winning etc. Now, everyone seems resigned to the fact that things are just going to go from bad to worse. It's not helped by the normalisation of supporting Trump either. In 2016 if you liked Trump you were dragged for it. In 2025 you have Carrie Underwood, Snoop Dogg and Nelly all performing for him in the name of 'bringing America back together.'

The Democrats fucked themselves over with the TikTok ban and are now going to spend years winning back the trust of young voters. They already lost so much support being genocidal maniacs sending funds and arms to Israel.

I hope the Americunties here on PJ are okay, I can only send you hugs and comiserations.

Why Ruben Gallego’s Laken Riley vote is a warning for Democrats

In backing the Laken Riley Act, the Arizona senator said he’s breaking with a party that’s “largely out of touch with where your average Latino is.”
Ruben Gallego didn’t run to be the next John McCain or Kyrsten Sinema — a new party-crossing maverick senator from Arizona.
But that’s exactly how he’s starting out.
Just days into his Senate career, the Democrat threw his support behind the Laken Riley Act — lending crucial momentum to the GOP-authored immigration bill that would force the incarceration of many undocumented immigrants accused of crimes.

In an interview, Gallego said it could be just the first of many votes he takes with Republicans on immigration and border issues — the reason he believes Democrats lost so broadly in 2024.
“I’m bringing the perspective of working class Latinos from Arizona,” he said. “And that perspective, I think, has been missing.”
Hmmm

Carrie Underwood’s rendition of America The Beautiful was hit by shock technical difficulties on Monday, leading the chart-topper to perform a capella due to issues with the backing track. Following the performance, an insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com that the singer, 41, was furious over the fact she wasn’t given a ‘stage or platform even’ like previous performers. However, the insider explained that this had a large impact on the singer’s performance, revealing: ‘Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable.’ The source added: ‘Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, had received. She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterwards.’

Some shady shit potentially going down in instagram. Reports of Trump, Melania and vances profiles popping up as "suggested for you" and shows people who are following them.

According to the vance profile from people I follow Dominique T.A.R Jackson, Christine Elise McCarthy (from Chucky and hates Trump) and Mark Hamill all following him.

Now I'm not saying they aren't following him but doesn't feel right.

I was somehow following Vance even though it didn't show up in my followers. I had to follow/unfollow for it to actually remove him.

I’m there with you, but I’m not going to blame Democrats necessarily. They need to regroup and restrategize how to deliver their message to the average American, who doesn’t like to read and believes the first thing they see online and shares it with their friends without fact checking it first. I don’t think there is anything wrong with their messaging per se; they just need to find a way to shove it down the people’s throats. Americans can’t be trusted to do their own research anymore. Politics have changed and so they have to meet people where they are.
