PopJustice News Network (PJNN): U.S. Politics [Hell] Channel

Thank goodness Donald “Two Corinthians” Trump is here to bring religion back to this heathen country which has “In God We Trust” as its national motto and printed on all its currency…

It’s like when people flip out about “KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS!!!!!” … is anyone calling it Mas that I don’t know about?

Curious that he didn’t do the event in Las Vegas at his own hotel … I didn’t even know there was a Circa hotel, come to find out it’s not on the Strip but instead on Fremont.

Bear with me because what I'm about to say is slightly unhinged, but you look at those clips and he really was the change candidate. Just not the right change.
I 100% agree. The local GP (in my neck of the woods) have shifted from being largely lukewarm towards Trump in 2016/Evan McMullin stans, to impassioned supporters of his now in 2025. They can't stand living in a world where shit just keeps getting more expensive, or a world where you sometimes hear Spanish in the grocery store, or a world where sex isn't the sole defining characteristic of who you are and who you can be. "Getting" Greenland or "reclaiming" the Gulf of AmErIcA is just icing to keep their enthusiasm riding high because they are as fuck aren't gonna be seeing any improvements in their economic lives.

Also... the uptick in people around me at my (now old) job playing this "game" where they see women passersby or customers and use things like thigh size, voice, face shape, etc. to try and "catch" "men pretending to be women" has been very, very noticeable. And I hate it. Yet another reason why I've dropped out of the real world. Real Christian behavior, KAREN.

The pattern is literally written on the wall with how ‘games’ like those turn into full on genocide.

I live in a red state and it’s like bees doing whatever is needed for the hive. Please tell me that people do wake up from this nightmare… eventually?

Trump pretending to be all religious is just too freakin funny. The fact that he can deliver this crap with a straight face is incredible.
It's a real testament to how far up one's own ass a fundie can be: I've seen aforementioned fundie "friends" get emotional recounting how strongly they felt the spirit during one of his speeches, themselves getting teary-eyed in the process. All I have been able to do is... stare at them in silence and politely walk away. Wish I were more prone to hitting people.

They're everywhere, across all classes from potato warehouse worker to chief executives, they're getting louder and prouder, and in weaker moments I've questioned if Manifest Destiny MAGA Jesus is real and I'm too wicked to feel his "undeniable" presence in my life.

It's doubly frustrating because these people largely have good, stable lives, and I'm known as the guy who made fuck-ups A, B, and C because he gave up on Jesus and became a gay. So any attempts to educate them about anything are met with deep skepticism and a sense of... pity? Like "oh Your Pretty Brains you've really let yourself go, don't be delusional we live in the greatest country on God's green earth; the Democrats have really made life hard but Trump and Jesus are going to restore us to glory."

I want to just go back to sleep but I've already been asleep for 15 hours today so that's probably irresponsible.

This level of dehumanisation of people is utterly disgusting.

I don't think I can bring myself to play the job-hunting game again. To start from the bottom and just repeat the same cycle of giving the bulk of my waking life to some company that doesn't even need to exist, full of people who are still starry-eyed for the American Dream and #hustling.

But I at the very least need to turn my SIM card back on tomorrow and try to face reality. Start calling people and try to piece together a network of folks who I can do things for in exchange for just enough dinero to live modestly and still have my soul intact at the end of the day. Mommy is gonna do a magick ritual tomorrow to try and heal us both with an assortment of crystals and incantations, and I wish I had even a fraction of her endless positive outlook and demeanor so I'm letting myself go along for the ride. Maybe we'll accidentally summon Baphomet and get whisked away into the demon realm forever! Beats another day in an office with vocal transphobic racists whose reality starts and ends with what that saw on their Facebook feed.

Hugs to y'all. I'm glad to have a few good laughs on here every day and keep up with the musics. It helps!

I live in NYC and reading this thread realize how lucky I am, despite how god damn expensive it is.
as a fellow New Yorker I am not sure how lucky I feel even in this regard. To me, it doesn't feel like as much of the blue bubble that I thought it was a decade ago. On Friday night, I was at "The Stand" in Union Square for a standup-comedy show and it was painfully obvious how the comendians were self-censoring when they realized there were enthusiastic Trump supporters in the first row. I kept it to myself until my signficantly younger cousin (who attended with me)....point blank asked me "what hell is going on? This is NOT normal..have we officially capitulated to the thug in the White House?". For context, my cousin is NOT particularly political and he's here on a H1B visa (so not a voter) and even for him, this was blatantly obvious just how far things have shifted in NYC too.

I can’t believe this is a real thing.
You're shitting me.

Oh my God you're not shitting me this is real.

But kudos to Bing for trying:

I feel like the window of opportunity to do SOMETHING is closing, I dunno, I just woke up after apparently successfully changing into nocturnal mode for good and had one of those dreams that stirred me into action, soooo leggo reality!

Oh look a text from fundie friend telling me that anxiety about the future is the devil trying to bring me down. (:

I'll get links added when I'm in front of a computer, but Gustavo Petro, Colombia's current President under its first Leftist government, tried to block arrivals of Trump deportations. Trump of course had a hissy fit about it and threatened tariffs of up to 50%. I'm not gonna pretend like I'm a geopolitics or economics expert, but I kinda wish Petro would've let him. Let the tariffs stack up and let the USA see what happens to price tags and quality of goods. Especially since Colombia has a much stronger domestic manufacturing sector: cars, appliances, textiles, produce, dairy, and meat are primarily "Made in Colombia" down there. I'd like to think they could make up for loss in US revenue with alternative trade partners. Would love any insight on this by any Colombians or subject matter experts here.

Long story short Petro did concede, but he's insisting on flying deported Colombians in with a private presidential plane and bringing them back to Colombia with dignity. I need to dig in more before I can accurately assess the whole deal, but I once again come away feeling immense gratitude for the Colombian electorate narrowly choosing Petro instead of that Trumpian fuck Hernández in the last election.

Here's a comprehensive Newsweek article last updated two hours ago. I guess I ought to figure out what we do in 2025 to stay abreast of Colombia-US relations.

The city has absolutely gotten way more red and the outside areas in particular. I’m in NYC a lot for work and dating a guy from SI (I know, I know) and it’s full Trumperland in a few of these boroughs.

Oddly enough, this trend started even before the 2020 election. I was chatting with this conventionally attractive girl at a bar in my neighborhood (and I don't live in an outer borough) in 2018 thinking it was going spectacularly well with her until she proudly confessed to being a Trump fan (although she did NOT vote for him in 2016). I have stopped going to place I usually get my hair cut since the guys that work there make it a point to indulge in their Trump fandom. The older I get, silence in these situations, feels like tacit endorsement and that's a harder reality to stomach now.
