I'm so sorry @Laurence I know how much you loved that kitty. You gave her the best life, and you will always have the memories.

Our big boy isn't doing so well since two years ago but he's hanging in there, he has small cell lymphoma so he's getting treatment for that. Some days he's 100% himself, bubbly and sassy some others not so much. Having three other kitties helps so much even though it's a mess.

It's been a while since I posted here, but sadly my beloved kitty passed away the ending of May. I didn't want to post here that soon, because I still feel hurt and miss her deeply, and I think it will stay forever sadly, but time will make me be able to cope better. Sadly yeah I was crying after this.

Since May, she had a bladder infection and stopped eating, and we focused on that while she lost weight, things did not improve. I gave her the medicine each day and night, but it didn't work and was just another issue. Then after a while she did not recover and was away from home a full day and two nights, and multiple vet visits did not bring her back to health. Even a rush visit to another vet when I gave her food with a tube which she did eat something, and you could see she got more trouble after that, but it did not help. I was so scared cuz she reacted so badly on it.

Finally, after more bloodwork again we found she probably had an auto-immune disease which fought off her red blood cells, she only had 10% left while cats normally have 40%. So, imagine how tired she was only having 25% of her normal energy. The only thing we could do was a blood transfusion, which does not solve the root of the issues and only buys time to investigate the issue, while it probably could not be healed too. So after the vet, I took her home again and spend the full day giving her the best day ever, however impossible with her low energy. I spent all day with her cuddling on bed, on the couch, letting her around in the garden and then I had to come back to let her go for good.

My sister called to say her goodbyes, as my Mum and Dad both visited and the latter went with me to the vet. I brought her in her most comfy basket and put her on my lap while she went to sleep and was very ready for it I think. I see it in the pictures from her from that day, it's so sad to see her like that but at least it puts me in comfort that it was her time. She’s my best friend for life, and I miss her dearly every day. She was my support for over 15 years and such a cutie. Home is not the same now, it’s empty. She’s in cat heaven now, and I had a lot of support from friends, family, and others about it. I wish she was with me for longer but 15 is an acceptable age, while only 25% of cats get older, it still feels too young to have let her go.

This was a great support to me: https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
I now have a new project to remember her a lot: Collecting all pictures to turn into a nice remembrance booklet for my family and hope it goes better a little each day. And my sister made me a booklet with collection of all the photos I've shared in our family app with comments, about how she went of through her day, how she liked it her. We were always joking she was in her pension with me, full rested and enjoying everything by herself.

Posting here is part of my process to deal with her passing. It's been a while and whenever I'm tipsy or feel bad and go home, I hope she's around, but she's not. I do miss her and cry a little, but finally I'm able to sleep after. The first days after her passing, I couldn't work or do anything, and I bursted into tears each time I saw a friend who knew. But after a while I tried little by little and

She's such a ball of fluffy love. I am so glad you and her got to cross paths ok this universe. She's clearly had a really good life thanks to you, and that's what matters. How is the project going/how you holding up?

Thank you. Not a lot of progress, but this has motivated me to start again. I feel like every big project like reorganizing my photos or stuff takes me a long while and I never finish those, but this is something that is definitely needing of finishing.

Has anyone had to deal with chronic otitis in their pet? My dog is nearly 10 now and for the past two years has had constant ear infections. Unfortunately there isn't a cure, just management, but it's exhausting. Just back from another visit to the vet this morning because I noticed one ear was pretty red and swollen.

He's taking a daily tablet since earlier this year to manage the infection but it's incompatible with vaccines; there has to be a 30-day wait between stopping/starting the treatment and any vaccination. He was due to get his yearly vaccines in June but whenever we try to lower the dose to get a safe window, the infection flares up again.

My cat had to be hospitalized for antibiotic responsive cholangiohepatitis on Monday and she came home last night. Very stressful but she's expected to make a full recovery. HOWEVER she has been placed on an antibiotic for the next 28 days (!) and I was curious as to if any of you had any advice on how to give a very stubborn cat their pills? She is so bad about taking it, she won't eat wet food with a pill in it and she fights and spits it out. I did cream cheese with this pill this morning and it was a battle.

Can you crush it up and mix it into something she’ll eat?

Sadly no she detects it that way too! We've tried crushing it into some kitty gravy and she refuses it.

I had this issue and all these you mentioned with cat + pills and the solution is to just add it (whole or in two pieces if big?) inside a very, very small 1cm 'meatball' I make with cat food pate. It needs to be pate though. And taken off the fridge as that makes the meatballs tighter. My cat takes two pills per day and up to 5 pills sometimes and this always works - everything else (chicken, wet food, crush it, everything - he's an ass). He wolf it up in a second, pill inside.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you I'll roll up my sleeves and make a meatball!

Our kitty Luna who is a little over 2 years old has a swollen foot and we took her to the vet last week. They had to do an X-ray and there is something going on with her bone but it’s not broken. They put her on antibiotics but we had to take her back today for a check up and they are going to have to do a biopsy from her bone. I’m so nervous and just want her to be ok. We will do whatever we need to when we find out what’s going on. She is so sweet.

Is she an outdoor kitty? We got loads of swollen paws when we moved to our summer place, till the kitties learned which insects we play with and which ones we avoid dd.

Sending postive vibes!
