What a single cover. QUEEN. Tina Turner resurrects her career, this time as a solo artist, with the help of Heaven 17 and a cover of an Al Green classic. It's been almost a year since their first offering Ball Of Confusion crashed out at #144. This follow-up sees Tina in the top ten before the year is up! One of the greatest comebacks in music history.

Who's Stan-ing who? - no doubt there'll be more big (diva) comebacks in the 80's from established artists!

Chartfile w/e 24th December 1983
Congratulations to The Thompson Twins who achieve their first Retrochart Number One single with "Hold me now", but they did have tough competition as climbing up behind them are Culture Club (Victims), Howard Jones, Simple Minds, Tina Turner and The Pretenders. Culture Club have two singles in the top ten as "Karma Chameleon" rebounds from 20 to 5 this week! Due to it's release now in the USA, it's climbing up @cityofdoomsday's Retrochart and rebounding in @Eric Generic's Retrochart! Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is stuck at Number Three. After eight weeks at the top Lione Richie's "All night long (all night)" falls to Number five this week! Paul Young is also heading down with "Love of the common people"
So next week will be the Christmas 1983 chart as well as the last chart of 1983 - who could possibly be Number One? The Flying Pickets maybe?
Stay tuned as all will be revealed by @phoenix123 soon!
