Billy Joel lasts only a week at the top as he is toppled by Dionne Warwick who nabs her first ever chart topper.
Hall & Oates continue to gain and climb 4-3 at the expense of Culture Club. Below them Pointers Sisters, Tears For Fears and Steve Winwood continue to gain but are held at bay as non-movers. Entering the top ten this week are big climbers from former chart toppers ABBA 23-10 and Michael Jackson 18-8 who are joined in the top ten for the first time by legendary soul star Marvin Gaye 19-9.
Six of this week's top ten are also top ten in the UK.
Further down the chart the debut single by "New York duo" Madonna hits #96. Just another faceless dance act, they won't last long…. although they do shoot 40-20 on the Billboard Dance chart this week.
