The highest new entry this week is from Duran Duran at Number 8 with their brand new single called "Union of the snake":
Lionel Richie gets his second week at Number One with "All night long (all night)":
Cubfile:
Lionel Richie’s “All night long (all night)” gets it’s second week at Number one. The big surprise this week is that Culture Club move back up from 4 to 2 – can they rebound to the top? Hot on their tail are Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson at Number three. Further climbers inside the top ten are Men Without Hats, The Rocksteady Crew, Depeche Mode and XTC. Heading down are Siouxsie and the banshees and Howard Jones.
The highest new entry this week is at Number 8 for Duran Duran and their brand new single called “Union of the snake” which like David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” album was produced by Nile Rodgers. Can the band get their third Number One single? Incidentally, Nile Rodgers is currently in the studio with INXS working on a brand new single, which they hope to release in time for Christmas – watch this space!
The longest runner on the chart as ever remains “Blue Monday” by New Order, which falls to Number 29 this week. They’ve chalked up an impressive 33 weeks in total on the chart so far!
Next Week could see new entries from Madness, The Police, ABC, Care, Eurythmics, Marilyn, Aztec Camera and Yes – stay tuned!
