Spandau Ballet's "Musclebound" goes up from 13 to number 7 this week:

Ennio Morricone makes it two weeks at the summit with "Chi Mai":

Cubfile:
Ennio Morricone holds on to the number one spot this week with “Chi Mai” – leaving Bucks Fizz at number two again. Climbers inside the top ten include Star Sound, Keith Marshall, Madness, Spandau Ballet, The Beat and The Police’s “When the world is running down” which won’t be released as a single in the UK. Heading southwards are The Jacksons and Bad Manners.
Shakin’ Stevens has the highest new entry with his best single yet “You drive me crazy” entering at number 28 – can he crack the HMV Retrochart top ten with this one?
The longest runner on the chart with 16 weeks is the former number one from Ultravox – Vienna, which goes down six places to number 39

Next week could see new entries from:
Kim Wilde, Kim Carnes, Vangelis, Smokey Robinson, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, Japan and a brand new single from Adam and the Ants - stay tuned!

EG's Chartdust: So it's another week at the summit for Bucks Fizz, with the unlikely challenge from Ennio Morricone failing to materialise. Six other singles in the Top 10 are on the way up; Spandau notch up their biggest Retrochart entry yet at the third attempt, The Cure belatedly follow-up their #1 A Forest with Primary shooting to #7 after just a fortnight on the chart, while Madness are faring much better with Grey Day than they did with previous effort Return Of The Los Palmos 7 which rather abruptly ended their run of consecutive Top 10 hits when it peaked at #13. The third single from John Lennon's Double Fantasy is proving surprisingly popular on the Retrochart, eclipsing the #9 peak of Woman and almost equalling the #6 achieved by (Just Like) Starting Over.

Welcome to the PJOPS Retrochart for Week Ending 2 May 1981!
