Visage are up to Number 7 with "The damned don't cry" - here they are being dramatic on Italian TV:

Dollar have their second Number One this week with "Give me back my heart":
@Rooneyboy

Cubfile:
Congratulations to both Dollar and Trevor Horn. Dollar get their second Number One of 1982 as “Give me back my heart” is the New Number One this week following their previous single “Mirror Mirror” which reached the summit in January. Trevor Horn produced both singles as well as ABC’s “Poison Arrow” Number One hit from last month. He has also remixed the new Spandau Ballet single called “Instinction” which will be released later on this month! Imagination are stuck at Number Two behind Dollar. Climbing up are Japan, Visage, Bucks Fizz and Heaven 17 – who now have their fifth top ten hit from “Penthouse and Pavement” as the re-made “At the height of fighting” moves up from 14 to 10 this week! Heading down are former Number Ones from both The Associates and ABC as well Fun Boy Three with Bananarama and Haircut 100.
The longest charting single is Simple Minds’ “I Travel” which has clocked up 16 weeks in total – originally peaking at Number Five in November 1980 – it has been re-released and currently sits at Number 37 this week. Watch out for their brand new single “Promised you a miracle” which is released this week!
Next Week could see new entries from:
Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder, Haircut 100, Bananarama with Fun Boy Three, J Geils Band, Bardo, Simple Minds, Hall and Oates and War – stay tuned!

Number 40 - new entry for Sting's new solo single....er, no it's actually Phd and "I won't let you down" featuring the vocals of the late Jim Diamond:

This single had a strange chart journey on the UK Top 75....taking a while to climb and actually getting stuck at #48 at one stage. It became such a hit that I assumed its ascent was swift and untroubled, but it was the opposite!

So the legendary Goombay Dance Band rise to top the chart narrowly beating out Bucks Fizz who vault 25-2 in only their second week charted and is looking likely to be a third chart topper for the group next week.

Both B-52s and Fun Boy Three/Bananarama complete one month stays at their respective peaks of #3 and #5.

Modest gains for Imagination and Huey Lewis & The News within the top ten.

Another big climber from Shalamar moves 20-10 as they look for a second chart topper in the coming weeks.

The #1 aside (obviously), I approve of your latest chart very much! Big climbs for the Fizz, Dollar, Altered Images and Shalamar, plus a high debut for the sublime Roxy single. By the way, I had always felt that something about I Don't Want To Be A Hero from Johnny Hates Jazz felt very familiar at the time....listening to I Can Make You Feel Good now, I can hear exactly why! It's got the same horn/synth motif puncutating the ends of the verses. Not even similar, identical. It may as well be sampled!

More Than This has aged better than I expected...when Street Life came out in '86, I didn't find it as interesting as a lot of the other Roxy stuff on that compilation, it was like a test-run for his solo albums....but hearing it again for the first time in a while, the production is amazing as ever but there's more oomph to the arrangement that I used to give it credit for.
