It's also entered relatively high for me because there is a bit of stagnation in the lower top 40 - you can probably tell from the positions and the points outside my top ten are dropping off quite rapidly at the moment since Xmas - you can tell from the certifications, there's only two silver singles in my top 40 at the mo and one is Madness which is 3 months old.
I can feel a lull coming on with my own chart, Jan and Feb have been crazy for classics all at once.
I probably couldn't have your chart rules because it would just be a top 5 at the moment consisting of Dollar, Tight Fit and Bucks Fizz for about 6 months!
Are you finding it difficult to stick to your rules? Are you tempted to "do an OCC" and start tweaking them?
Definietly no tweaks!
There are times when my rules mean I'm charting a song much higher than I would in the cold light of 2018....Haircut 100, Tight Fit, for example at the moment...but I have them in iTunes playlists and when I listen back it actually makes it easier to recall what I felt about them in 1982.
It also means Lindsey Buckingham didn't get the #1 he would now.
