Radio Disney Justice: A Teen-Pop Extravaganza - (Results: WINNER)

Never has the "Sophie's Choice" joke been more applicable to me, than it is for this rate.
I mean there are many songs that would earn the 11 in their respective discographies:

Aly & AJ

Like Whoa

Ashley Tisdale
Crank It Up

Demi Lovato
Give Your Heart a Break

Hilary Duff
Fly

Lindsay Lohan
Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)

Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana
The Climb

Selena Gomez

Hit the Lights

This feels like a dream come true in a winners rate to have so much amazingness. And how am I going to choose a song from one of the above? All such nostalgic forces that can bring so much emotion in all different ways with them. And there might be 11 contenders elsewhere. I was heartbroken after not giving my 11 to Sparks in the Hilary Duff rate, but Fly really is that song for me for such a long moment in time. So I have no regrets, but it would feel so right to give it to Sparks too. But will there ever be a rate from any of the other artists (no shade @DJHazey as I know you were planning to do some of those in the future). This might be the only time to 11 them. WHAT TO DO?

@Sprockrooster - Two of those songs are part of my contenders list. There are two songs here that made my Ultimate Popjustice so they would seem like obvious choices, but I don't think I want to be obvious and feel those songs already had their moment in the sun.

Will something like this help people who may not be familiar with everyone? Obviously I've skipped Aly & AJ and Ashley Tisdale so far, because well if you don't know who they are and at least one of their songs...this may not be the rate for you.
I would find this really helpful. Interested to know what you think of Sabrina Carpenter, I kind of adore her. She's just so tiny!

She will definitely have pre-rate post for sure. Her sound has gone through a little sound-transition as well and is covered by the songs in the rate.

I've linked the artist's name to their pre-rate post on the song list on the first page and indicated it with a * too.

Bea Miller is one of those names I've heard of, but don't actually "know". Should be nice to actually hear the voice behind the name!

This the first set of tags, just get a feel for who is interested in this rate or not. I will then tag everyone weekly, minus those who express no interest or people that was completed their ballot.

@Posh Spears

My love, this isn't quite my genre and I literally know none of these songs so I am out as we would definitely have words when I inadvertently tank one of your faves!!

I’ll do this as long as I’m reminded to send my scores!

Why only one song for Raven? I know she’s a colossal flop but she’s got more bops than just Bump!

She has four songs when you include The Cheetah Girls. I'll be sure to remind you numerous times.

Who Is That? #2 and #3 - Bella Thorne and Zendaya

The reason I have them together, both here and on the song list, is because in the Disney World they broke out as stars together on the TV show Shake It Up. The show debuted with 6.2 million viewers -- the second most for a Disney show ever. Bella played Cece Jones and Zendaya played Rocky Blue on the show, which focuses on the pair being background dancers on a faux TV show "Shake It Up Chicago". Bella had no professional training as a dancer until she got the part. It is also interesting to note that Bella was bullied as a child for her dyslexia and Cece has dyslexia on the show; Bella has worked hard during her life to overcome the disorder by reading everything she got her hands on. Zendaya on the other hand has been dancing her entire life, started at eight years old for a the dance group Future Shock Oakland in Oakland, California. In 2013, she was even on Dancing With the Stars and finished as the runner-up. They both starred on the Disney original movie Frenemies together, but in recent years Bella has gone on to other ventures outside of Disney, while Zendaya still stars on TV show K.C. Undercover where she plays K.C., the daughter of a family of spies.

Shake It Up gave both Bella and Zendaya a chance to show their musical side as well. In 2011, our first song "Watch Me" hit #86 on the Hot 100 and happens to be one of my favorite songs of all-time; period. The show would lead to the release of an EP titled Made In Japan that gives us our second song: "Fashion Is My Kryptonite". The Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance soundtrack gave Bella the single "TTYLXOXO" and Zendaya "Something to Dance For". I have opted to go with the mash-up version of both songs, which is honestly an amazing pop tune anyway, but adds to the spirit of having these two together again. There's no other way to describe the songs from this era, other than 'explosive dance pop'. Seriously, these ones go harder or as hard as any other dance track in this rate, so be prepared. Check out "Watch Me" to get the idea and see if you can learn the words from its crazy chorus on the first play...good luck.

On their own, they struggled to get much music released. Bella was supposed to have an 11 track debut album released in 2014, but we only got an EP titled Jersey which was preceded by single "Call It Whatever", a song that only made the EP in the form of a remix. However, since it's her only other official single, it has made the rate and you will earn @WhenTheSunGoesDown's love forever if you give high marks. (He is our resident Bella stan). Zendaya did get a self-titled album out in 2013 and it is incredible electropop-infused R&B, but still on a 'teen-pop' level. It's a crime that there was only one single from the album, though its #51 chart placement probably had something to do with it. There's no doubt in my mind that "Replay" is going to be a discovery for some of you and if that happens, be sure to check out songs like "Butterflies", "Putcha Body Down", and "Only When We're Close" from Zendaya. I have "Replay" below as well as "Butterflies" to help give you an idea of what her sound is like.

Music Comparison: Together they are like a 'teen pop' version of Icona Pop, with Zendaya's solo material being like a young Ciara.

Zendaya not have the same success as some of the other disney stars is a shameful moment for the GP.

If you are at all interested in this rate and haven't heard Replay, do yourself a favor and listen.

Extremely blessed to be mentioned in this post about Call It Whatever, the banger to end all bangers.

Very helpful as I am very limited in my Disney darlings. If they were big on the charts I know them. If they weren't I have no idea.

Also, could you collect those 'who is this'-list in one of the first posts from the thread. So I can read when listening to them.
