Radio Disney Justice: A Teen-Pop Extravaganza - (Results: WINNER)

If you ever stopped loving music you once loved, that's on you honestly.

Good music doesn't have an expiration date as far as I'm concerned.

I still enjoy the music I listened to back in the early and mid-00s! And as you'll see, my PJ00s entry this round, while not teen pop, is a nod to a particular type of song in this rate.

What I mean is that the newer songs in this rate generally don't sound as accessible or enjoyable to my ears. I can't quite put my finger on why this is.

My comment about the saw doctors being better than Miranda - I'm not referring to actual people who repair saws, I mean a folky band called The Saw Doctors who did a "live lounge" cover on radio 1. It was as you would expect.

A real quick one because it's a bit later than expected and I've been busy at work this morning and after all the songs she has beaten lately with this, it's what she deserves.

#46. Ashley Tisdale - Be Good to Me - 7.310

Highest: 10 x 2 (@GhettoPrincess, @Sally_Harper)

Lowest: 3 (@Alouder98) 4 (@Blond)

My Score: 5

Voter Bloc 1: #46
Voter Bloc 2: #22 ???
Voter Bloc 3: #35
Voter Bloc 4: #43
Voter Bloc 5: #39

Final Voters: #46

Charts: #80 (U.S.) #67 (Austria) #57 (Germany) #4 (Venezuela) #2 (Ukraine)

Release: Lead single for Ashley's debut album Headstrong in December 2006.

Songwriters: Kara DioGuardi, Joacim Persson (producer), Niclas Molinder (producer).

Features: Uncredited rapping vocals from David Jassy on the album version.

Music Video: Uses set and backup dancers from High School Musical: The Concert. This video was the radio version of the song, but another video was released in 2008 that has the rap vocals.

Promo: It is featured on the Disney compilation album Radio Disney Jams, Vol 10. You can also hear the song in the film Bring It On: In It to Win It.

Hazey's Focus: Never really been a fan of this or He Said She Said to be honest, in fact this album in night and day to me compared to Guilty Pleasure. It strays far too much into rap, especially with the featured vocals even though some parts of the song work I've never been able to see what others see.

Since @Blond (4) asked so aggressively, I've answered his question above: "WHO THE FUCK is this rapper?"

We have a connection to recent eliminated artist from another rate with @iheartpoptarts (6) making an interesting comparison: "So so so scandalous. Except, you know, not as good." Maybe if this were on a GTA soundtrack I could eventually be Stockholm-Syndromed into liking it more.

@Remorque (6.5) has a lot of negatives to sort through: "I've never been a fan of Ashley's voice, though I do admit she doesn't sound bad on this one. It's the flat production I'm not really a fan of here and the song SCREAMS it's been around to about a dozen other singers before being passed on to Ashley... And what the flying fuck even is that “rap”?"

@livefrommelbs (7) says "issa bop" like they're trying to sound like Jar Jar, while @unnameable (9) upgraded it to "excellent bop".

Somehow I think @Pecans (7) wanted to give a higher score with the comment but I'm glad he didn't: "I’m loving the over-the-top, whiny vocals Ashley is giving us. I love a camp pop song."

When Sprocky's BF (9) got to this section he became very excited: "SHARPAY!! I love High School Music."

Looks like @31entrance (9) only got their life to the radio version back in the day: "it's been so long since I've heard this that I legit forgot there was a rapper ddd anyways the song still bops hard."

I would take all of the commentary from @Sally_Harper (10) and instead apply it to something like "Not Like That": "This is still bloody amazing. Strings, sirens, dramatic adlibs…I love it. All of it."

I like @GhettoPrincess's (10) spirit behind her comments but I just don't see it with this song: "I love this one, very dramatic. The production is very much of it’s time but it works very well. It manages to be more grown up whilst not going over the top/left field with it."
