Radio Disney Justice: A Teen-Pop Extravaganza - (Results: WINNER)

Amazing clique!!
I don't think I'd be any good at running my own rate. Also the track list I've picked seems too indulgent to my own interests and without a ton of broader appeal to the forum. If someone else likes the idea and wants to adapt it themselves, they're welcome to.
If the way you revived The Veronicas rate is anything going to by at how your hosting skills you definitely have nothing to worry about. You gave life to something that was dead in the water. You had little info from the voters but still managed to keep me interested. Also if you love all the albums in your rate it is easy to host. And there probably never will be anyone who loves them the same as you. Every has their faves among them. Nothing to worry about!

Unless people have already started doing their scoring with the current song list, I have devised a way to break down the artists into groups that I will at least have on the leaderboard (names for the groups to come later when I can think of something) -- but it would look something like this:

The First Wave (2003-2005) // Aly & AJ, The Cheetah Girls/Raven, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan (24 songs)
The Second Wave (2006-2008) // Ashley Tisdale, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens (21 songs)
The Demi/Selena Era (2009-) // Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez (20 songs)
The Resurgence (2010-2013) // Bridgit Mendler, Bella Thorne, Emily Osment, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Zendaya (19 songs)
The Recent Years/Extra Acts (2011-present) // Bea Miller, China Anne McClain, Coco Jones, College 11, Dove Cameron, Laura Marano, Lucy Hale, Olivia Holt, Sabrina Carpenter, Sofia Carson, XO-IQ (17 songs)

If I changed the song list into this order, it might help people go from the artists they know more to the ones they might know less, break everything down into manageable sections, and keep everyone on task, etc.

Thoughts?

At the very least I will have the songs listed like this as a leaderboard like I've done in the past with the songs listed with a #xx. next to the name and move it up to the top of their list with the rank they got as it gets revealed, that way people can just look at this list and know what has been eliminated and what is still in as we go.

That seems perfect to me.

The song list has been updated and to keep in theme with most artists being on a Disney/Nick TV show or movie, I have decided to name each 'era' after a show/movie that was prominent during that time and included an artist within that 'era'. I'm not sure how iconic Girls Meets World is in comparison but it kinda fits the newest era as a bit of "send off", "finale", or "graduation" if you will for this collection of teen-pop music.

On the second post you will find the leaderboard which will be an important post to follow during the reveal because it will always keep you up to date on what has been eliminated and what is left, it's all there.

Here they are and the song list on the opening page has been updated, along with the PM list too.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I don't even know what rate you're talking about and I heard both The Veronicas & Dragonette and was like I'm there. Plus I've read through rates that had lots of commentary from you and you're fucking hilarious.

If you're getting this much support from people who are also in the disney thread, I think you'd get plenty of support from the rest of the forum.

On the disney side of things, yes, I love that new tracklist order.

Who Is That? #7 - College 11

R-3793329-1344637226-4211.jpeg.jpg

Our first non-U.S. entry is College 11, a duo formed in Sao Paulo Brazil in 2010. The members are Mayra Arduini and Bruno Martini. They met after a 'song battle' which Mayra won and decided to write four songs together. The band's name simply comes from the fact that they were in college at the time and met at around 11am -- which sounds a lot like how the band 311 was formed. They were discovered by Disney because of a demo Bruno's father gave to producers for Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears and the response was that their sound would be better fit for Disney -- they became the first Latin American artists ever signed by Disney under the '360 Graus' project.

Their self-titled album was released in 2012 in most Latin American countries on iTunes and unfortunately didn't do well at all. That didn't stop me from somehow finding out about it and loving it immediately. My initial favorite was "Back to Wonderland" which I entered in PJSC years later. This was quite a mistake since it's an album track that might have to grow on people:

I decided to choose the single "Go!" for this rate because it pops off instantly and it could low-key be a wig snatcher for new listeners. I should also note that despite being a band and this being a "Queens Rate", I let this slide because Mayra does most if not all of the singing, at least on all the songs I love from the album. She also had a hand in writing most of the lyrics. Anyhow, here's our song to rate:

After the album's floppage, they continued to work on various Latin-Disney projects including the Violetta series and "Que Talento!" or "What a talent!"

Musical Comparison: Kind of like taking Karmin or The Ting Tings and turning them into teen-pop.

I really need to re-listen to the songs on this rate since it’s been so long I’ve listened to them also I’m pretty sure there’s a few songs on here I’m not familiar with

Sounds like you'll make quite a few discoveries.

For a second I read that as they tried to make a Britney/Justin collab happen and I was like, yesssss. And then I was like, ohhhhh.

I thought that part might intrigue you.

do I have to send all the songs all at once or can I send them bit by bit?
also since we're on the topic how do I send the songs to you @DJHazey?

It's all on the first page for reference. Score each song 0-10. You can give your one all-time favorite an 11 instead of a 10. You can also comment on as many or as few of the songs as you'd like, just explaining why you love or hate the song or other reasons the song has impacted you. There's a spoiler tag at the bottom of the song list that has them listed so it's easier to send in a PM.

Just PM them to me by clicking my avatar and selecting 'Start a Conversation'. You can then just add to the conversation whenever you get a part done if you'd like to send it in parts. I probably won't enter your scores into the spreadsheet until I get everything though.

This format works best.
