Didn't it then come second to last though or something
They "performed" in the cursed second place.
They performed at 17 of 18 in the semi, very decent spot. And they came 14th.
We're on about Eurovision Again earlier this year x
When I ran Popjustice’s Eurovision Favorites last year, “Verona” finished just outside the top 10, so you are definitely not alone.
Oh my sorry, I was really confused for a moment ddd.
I love the song but the performance wasn‘t strong.
A rare photo of the Eurovision 1982 stage and auditorium in Harrogate (that was inaugurated just a few weeks prior) brightly lit between rehearsals.
Yes - she did the French versions of many anime series I watched as a child! An unexpected relation to Club Dorothee too!
They posted a YouTube video collecting some of the theme songs she was responsible for:
Footage from the rehearsal of Eurovision 1984 where you can see the backdrop changing with each song and all the artists and PA's moving in and out of stage.
Estonia's 1996 Eurolaul is one of the most bizarre national finals, with some singers not being present on stage but through a video wall screen (including Ivo Linna, one of the performers of the winning song) and the singer of song number 10 not being seen on the stage nor onscreen, with shots of the nightclub being shown instead. (But that song still finished in 4th place!)
Estonia sent three absolutely gorgeous songs in 1996, 1997, and 1998. They made a mistake not singing in Estonian in 1999 as it would've elevated that song quite a lot.
... and yet somehow they won with that song in 2001.
That song winning in 2001 is still a riddle to me.
I really liked and still really like Everybody but yeah even back then it winning was baffling. They should have won in 2000 instead.
Put it down to 2001 being a really weak year overall. Poor songs and bad staging. Greece was the best of a bad bunch.
Because of Covid. RIP
Terrible news. He was just 44!
Alexandra Rotan from Keiino was on 'Stjernekamp' (Star battle - kind of like 'Idol' for known musicians) tonight and did Verka Serduchka tonight.
Why is this actually amazing.

The 1982 stage was small even by that era's standards. Poor orchestra looked absolutely crammed in the side there.
