Rants & Annoyances

My boss is wanting to hire an apprentice and wants me to train them.

I spent 4 years at University learning this shit, racking up a £10k student loan in the process and he thinks I'll just pass it all on free of charge to a 16 year old. Just no.
Did you tell them no? I wouldn't do it, sounds like you're training up your replacement.

Take them under your wing and covertly steer them in the wrong direction. When they mess up big time, throw your hands up and exclaim, "They seemed so promising too. I just don't know where they went wrong!"

If ITV still showed The Story Keepers there would be no confusion about the true meaning of Easter.

My rant is that I can't drive and have to take the bus everywhere, but i know I don't have the right temperament to be a driver. I'd either be an utter wuss and let people away with everything or be all Cruella De Ville and drive like a maniac. There is no in between with me.

I've decided just because I haven't had a formal invite, doesn't mean I can't show up and look sickening?

I've just booked a salon appointment.

I'm genuinely baffled that millions of people in this country can be simultaneously outraged by the BBC turning a blind eye to sexual abuse at the hands of their biggest stars, yet are fuming with rage that they didn't turn a blind eye to Jeremy Clarkson physically assaulting someone. Some people are utter morons.

Hoarding knowledge for the sake of your ego doesn't really sound particularly beneficial to anyone. Knowledge is meant to be shared.

Someone's been watching All About Eve and laughing manically...

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE A FUCKING COVER LETTER FOR THIS POSITION.

Christ.

Just write about I Will Never Let You Down became your personal mantra when pleading to your employers to hire you for the position. You'll be more clingy than a condom on a beachball, but fuck it.

But they wont be stealing the qualification from you. They will just have a working knowledge... I think it's good to share your knowledge/experience. I've spent 8 years studying and I'd be really upset if I couldn't pass that on to others.

Just write about an example of when you were really clingy in the past.

What kind of shade? (A condom on a beachball? Not heard that one before)

I suppose that's one way to approach compensation and benefits.
