RAYE - My 21st Century Blues + General Discussion

The Royal Albert Hall gig on Tuesday was exceptional and probably one of the best gigs I have ever been to. She really is in a league of her own. Being a fan since her EP days, I could not help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and emotion seeing her play to a sell-out crowd with an entire orchestra behind her. It felt full circle, especially as I was lucky enough to see her intimate piano show at the beginning of the album campaign last year. While I have seen her live multiple times this year (including Glastonbury, which was just breathtaking), this gig felt so so special. Seeing her strip down to her underwear during 'Body Dysmorphia' made me cry as not only is it one of my favourite songs on the album (and hugely relatable personally), but it was just so fucking empowering seeing her be that vulnerable on stage. 'Black Masscara' with an orchestra also WENT OFF. Her level of charisma and talent is wild and I cannot wait for her to win Album of the Year (and all her other nominations) at the Brits next year.

I was also gagged by how good my seats were which were directly on the right-hand side of the stage. Hopefully, I spot myself if there's a live film in the works!

Doja Cat in fierce four-way race for UK Number 1 single this week

If Doja Cat wants to Paint the Town Red for a fifth week at Number 1, she'll have to fend off some fierce competition as, currently, less than 2,000 chart units separate her and three other contenders for the top spot.

Kenya Grace’s Strangers will be looking to close the gap (2), while BTS star Jung Kook and Jack Harlow’s 3D aims for this week’s highest new entry (3). Our final challengers come in the form of cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe on Prada (4).

I just got back from her show here and wow. She really is one of the best live acts I have ever seen: charisma in spades, vocals for days, plus she's incredibly humble and witty and fun. She seemed genuinely taken aback by the crowd's energy and clearly fed off of it. She's absolutely a must-see in my book and I'll make sure never to miss a stop of hers here.

Canceling a sold out concert to play a 2 minute TV slot that rarely results in songs getting even the tiniest bump to promote a live album that has no release date yet... coco math gif
