Rihanna Singles Rate

I found "Rockstar 101" to be rather great, but it was a glorified interlude on Rated R, and it was an appalling choice for a single.

"Love The Way You Lie" can rot.

Rockstar should never have been a single, and the overexposure of Love The Way You Lie makes me sad, because I love it a great deal but everyone else has grown to hate it!

It's sad Rockstar 101 is out so early, I absolutely love it. The attitude is tangible!

I wasn't really surprised with some of the lower placings. For me, it was nearer to the finish that things became surprising.

Let the countdown continue. In at 21 and 20...

21. Shut Up And Drive (6.91)

Released as the second single from Good Girl Gone Bad, this song was a rock-orientated song which contained an interpolation from New Order's "Blue Monday". The song reached # 5 in the UK and # 15 on the US Hot 100. It recieved critical praise for it's originality against her other singles, whilst some felt that it was an un-worthy successor to Umbrella.

20. Take A Bow (6.96)

This was the first single from the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad and recieved great chart success reaching #1 in both the UK and the U.S. Critics praised the way inwhich Rihanna's "vocal inability" was played to the song's advantage, yet likened the song to Beyonce's 'Irreplacable. The song was covered during the first season of hit US TV show Glee.

I like both the songs but shut up and drive went out at about the right time. Surprised by Take A Bow it's better than few still left in like Rehab!

About time Take A Bow left. Biggest piece of nothing in her singles collection and on Good Girl Gone Bad.

I'm cool with those 2 going, strip away at more of the deadwood.

Take A Bow really was dreadful- although I do like her hair.

Shut Up and Drive is my favourite Rihanna song. I'm sad. I love that awesome guitar riff and lyrics are cheesy but amazing at the same time.
Take a Bow is mediocre. Not much to say about it.

Woah I missed that this had started. Biggest injustice so far, Love the Way You Lie being out already. I gave that a 10, it's one of her best songs by a long shot!

So, just to recap: The nine songs eliminated are:
We Ride
Break It Off
Hate That I Love You
If It's Lovin That You Want
If I Never See Your Face Again
Live Your Life
Rockstar 101
Love The Way You Lie
Shut Up and Drive
Take A Bow

So the final 20 contains: All of the Loud era singles, 3 of her guest features, 1 Music of the Sun single, 2 more A Girl Like Me singles, 5 Rated R singles and 4 Good Girl Gone Bad singles (with Take A Bow at 20).

Take a Bow is amazing, and fairly close to being my favourite Rihanna single (it's probably third). But then all three would be ballads, so what do I know!

Rehab is great, and I was so happy when it got a single release, but somehow that just killed the track for me. It was my favourite GGGB track for a good while!

Also, the Take A Bow video is, for me, the best Rihanna has ever looked.
