Saw her at MassMoca last night. Don’t know if it was because of this random venue and that I went in with high expectations, but it was one of the most disappointing concert experiences of my life.
It was 80-90% lipsync over the original tracks. No live band. No remixes. No visuals. Hardly any crowd work. She spent half the show performing on the floor so I couldn’t see anything. Costumes were uninspired and forgettable. No encore.
It is was actually shocking.
I’m a glad I went? Yes. But if I was working for her, I would have made different choices.
