RuPaul's Drag Race (Original Franchise)

It's reality television and some girls are asked to play up the "villain" role so narratives can be formed. Unless Loosey legitmately feels hurt by it in real life (judging by her social media she doesn't - and she's even playing up the "delusional queen" angle) it's all played up for entertainment, so like... I just treat it as that. And all three of them are entertaining characters.

Well I think in the moment, it's kind of bully behavior.
But it's been like almost a year since they filmed, they're not in that environment anymore, i'm sure they are all passed those feelings -- i'd hope. So I don't think there's any reason for people to be spamming @ Mistress and Luxx calling them bullies now. Like, they're all adults and i'm sure have talked with Loosey plenty since filming and are all good now.
But... it's the Drag Race fandom, people still give Roxxxy shit for being mean to Jinkx ten years ago.

For me personally though, I just hate anytime Drag Race showcases queer people being mean to each other. A little tiff or some shade is different, but, now we've kind of passed into the "Okay we get it." stage, for me.

Having my annual listen to Violet's Bald and the Beautiful episode.

"Miss Fame had as nice wigs as Rupaul"
"Maybe nicer... compared to these last few seasons"

"A lot of the reason people hate on our season was the challenges"
"Mama... I was telling there! I was telling them every day "These challenges are garbage, mama""

*Violet on drag becoming increasingly sanitsied for a younger audience*
"Leave me the fuck alone! Nobody cares about your kid in a wig! Girl, drag children? Give me a break! Give me a fucking break"

I love having villains in reality television and recent seasons of Drag Race have been lacking on that front due to so many contestants having too much concern for their ‘image’ and craving to be liked at all times. So Mistress and Lux are refreshing to me in that respect; they hark back to a time when this show focused more on contestants intimidating their competition.

Mistress has said multiple times that her attitude towards the other girls (Lucy, Malaysia, the twins etc) is not coming from a malicious place and I'm sure she's talked about it with them personally as well (like she did on Untucked). That's why I personally see this all as enjoyable TV and like all the queens involved.

The thing is what they said (in my eyes) wasn't even that bad? Luxx wanted a part that was pretty much written with her in mind, Loosey wanted it cause it was the lead, said as much in the confessionals, but told the girls it was cause she relates to it. Mistress told her to just admit she wanted the lead, she refused, Mistress called her fake.

So then Loosey is upset about being called fake and has her moment about it to Salina and now to you lot, Mistress and Luxx have been bullying her for weeks and are monsters. Luxx saying Loosey's drag is generic while she's up there in a latex swimsuit that Phi Phi O'Hara wore on AS2 being the meanest thing said on the season. I imagine Season 2 must be like watching torture for some of you.

Some of you are so weak n n n. Loosey knows what she's doing, and neither Luxx or Mistress have lied once teebs!

People are allowed to say if someone's behaviour is off. They're coming across like arseholes, and the fact that Mistress is tweeting to play up on it suggests it goes way beyond "us lot" here. Or at least the perception of it does. Because that's really all we're talking about. We can only react to what we see. If Loosey comes out to say that is totally unrepresentative of what happened, great. But it's still a valid feeling that the way it's edited makes it look really bad.

Thinking it's ok to call people "weak" when they're just expressing that some actions represent elements of bullying that are pretty unpleasant to watch is absolutely rotted by the way. Equally, equating it to purely the words that are said is ridiculous.
