RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 + General Discussion

He / Him / His
I definitely agree this season’s starting to lose momentum, and the format and critiques are adding to that, but this also feels like a bigger issue with the show at large.

International seasons like UK 2 and Espana 1 are exempt because of their shorter running order but I’d say Season 9 was probably the last time a season genuinely felt like it was firing on all cylinders until the finale. The less said about the pacing of 13 and (the admittedly pretty good) 14 the better but with All Stars, 3 and 4 majorly hit the skids once Ben and Manila left, All Stars 5 hit the skids the moment it started and even All Stars 6, which was largely great, had the one-two punch of Drag Tots and the monologues to see it out and ultimately take all of the wind out of its sails.

A 10 episode season would have suited this format perfectly but it’s clear quantity over quality has been the show’s M.O for some time now and they choose to cater to that by padding out the running order with tried and true challenges that the audience mostly hates but which they know how to do (acting, multiple design challenges etc).

I could watch this season even longer, on the flip side. Every week has not been a disappointment in my eyes and it's refreshing to not have to cringe through filler queens.

Shea being dead-last star wise is 100% criminal. Yvie is truly the only one that I think is out of her element.

But Eureka constantly makes fat jokes or about her eating. So it's not funny as it's expected.

Food or fat jokes isn't a crutch Jinkx uses in every single Drag Race performance.
Jinkx: I’m fat and old! (Even though I’m 34 and pretty average)

So, what we're saying is that if things were different they'd be different...?
My point was more so that if someone was to do say… Monet or Shea’s routines, they’d still be great because they were just straight up good routines and should be rewarded for that. But if someone that wasn’t so universally adored tried a comedy routine akin to Jinkx, the world would’ve hated it.

So all in all… Roxxxy Andrews was robbed.

I think kinda the whole point is that Jinkx has the charisma and delivery to pull it off and make it amazing while others couldn’t?

I loved Jinx's video. I ru-watched it three times.

Yvie's lewk was not giving what it was supposed to be give.

Trinity really elevated her drag. Raja too.

The thing with Jinkx is that her comedic timing and delivery is so well studied and on point - which is why she manages to make even the scripted acting and improv challenges funny. It's a level of skill that some of the biggest A listers aren't performing to.

Roxxxy Andrews is my queen though.
