RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 + General Discussion

I'm surprised Yvie is so out of her element in this season - despite being a lot more likeable this time round. But then I remember she went into the final with just 1 win under her belt. So she's not known for killing the challenges compared to someone like Trinity.

On her season Yvie could've won the Rusical, and the Ball if her last outfit had been better and should've won the Unconventional Materials challenge (she only didn't because of Plastique's storyline). She was also the best in the Top 4 challenge but nobody 'won' (sometimes they give a win and sometimes they don't).
This season she's just up against some of the other best queens from the franchise.

We’ve got to remember that the challenge wasn’t really ‘make the best dance video’? It’s nearly always just a dressed up challenge to ‘make Ru laugh’.

So whilst Shea had a great video and a great dance, that wasn’t really the challenge.

Maybe it's the stan goggles in full force but I thought Jaida did amazing this week? Her video was on brand, she camped it up, her steps made sense with her storyline and were straightforward enough I could see them become a TikTok trend, plus her runway look was to die for, she was robbed of a mention teebs.

Overall another enjoyable episode for me, I appreciate they're trend chasing with Tik Tok but at least the challenge itself felt a little interesting. I did get a bit fatigued at watching all the tutorials back to back but that's just what it is.

The runways theme on the other hand had some moments, those being Jaida and Jinkx. Jaida's reveals genuinely had me gagged and each one of Jinkx's looks were stunning and really refreshing after weeks of similar sorts of looks. It felt like some of them really went for the theme and others kind of played it a bit more low key, though the quality of the looks were still fantastic (except Yvie, bless).

Of the videos, Monet and Jinkx felt like the right choices for winners. Monet going for that low hanging fruit worked wonders and Jinkx's approach felt pretty refreshing against the other videos.

I'm not quite sure how I felt about the spoken word lip sync as it's not a scene I am familiar with but I'm sure I'd be absolutely gagged if it was something I knew well.

The idea of a roast next week has me quite excited too!

My local bar played the spoken lip sync at their Showtunes night tonight and it felt so pure!

God, that Tik Tok challenge got so boring towards the end. Watching the episode was worth it for the runways and lipsync alone though. I would probably have expected Jinkx to win the monologue but Monet absolutely devoured it, she was incredible.

I don't think Yvie is out of her element. I love her drag, she brings something different and she plays an integral part in this competition. I get the impression she's not as competitive as the others though. And that's fine.

Yeah that’s true, she isn’t as competitive as some of the other queens on the show this time round. Though I did feel she was kinda competitive during her own season. Maybe it was more driven by her beef with Silky than anything else.
