RuPaul's Drag Race UK (S6)

The UK is incapable of picking satisfying winners. I don’t dislike any of the winners at all, but it literally should have gone:

Divina
Bimini
Krystal
Danny
Michael
La Voix

Said the same in the spoiler thread (Bar Krystal, I don't like them, well I didn't like S3 at all).

I know some of my feelings on this are because my fave didn’t win, but I said this in the spoiler thread, what do you have to do to win Drag Race in 2024? You can have the most wins, have some of the strongest showings of the season with those wins, a decent runway package, lip sync well, never be bottom two, be involved in some of the most memorable moments of the season (Diana runway, makeover), good confessionals, good relationships with the cast and judges, and you still don’t win? Even the finale was a good showing for La Voix and didn’t mess up any of it. It feels like Sapphira Cristal and Nelly/Kween/Kitty (yes, any of them) all over again.

I can only fathom that this outcome is because they want to ‘freshen’ up the winners circle with someone isn’t a camp comedy queen, but it doesn’t feel right to me. WOW may also want La Voix back to compete again, or they know she is an already established star, so her appearance here will only give her a boost.

Kyran is not unworthy of the win, but compared to La Voix, they are and she performed better as a whole.

This outcome won’t detract from the fact that this could be my favourite UK season and I would go further and say probably better than UK2.

The narrative that Divina deserved to win Season 1 needs to be erased from existence. Vivienne dogwalked that season and Divina should've gone home to Baga in the Make Over challenge instead of Cheryl (who should've won that episode).

Well, I guess we can all agree that none of the UK winners is unworthy. All of them deserved their crown.
The thing is that the top 2/3 in UK have been all so strong (bar S3) that you could switch winner and no one could complain (apart from Baga winning, that would cause many complains).

Also this might be controversial but... Lawrence is a great winner and I feel she has done more than Bimini would've in the Drag Race sphere, which is probably why they picked her to win. Imagine Bimini winning then completely distancing herself from drag and the show, it wouldn't be very satisfying.

Besides the true winner of Season 2 is Tayce, don't @ me.

La Voix stomping the competition in the latter half of the season did feel like they were gearing up to crown her... but alas. Kyran is a great drag queen, and even if that final runway was questionable, it's not as if they crowned Rileasa ñññ

I had forgotten how hot Ginger was.

This was a good little season of Drag Race, even if its ending felt narratively unsatisfying (as almost every UK season's has) and I thought both frontrunners just slightly overpraised throughout. (Don't drag me, obviously both very talented etc, but I felt La Voix performed the role of the consummate all-rounder pro more convincingly than she did in most individual challenges, and was given an extremely easy ride for her runways; Kyran's performance style was consistently more just irritating than anything else, and the whole cringingly desperate persona was difficult to warm to.)

Eager to see more of Lill, Rileasa and Actavia, the sheer force of the latter's energy being maybe the thing I'll look back at this season most fondly for.

This is a joke…right?
