S Club 7 - RIP Paul Cattermole <3

It never felt 'special' I genuinely think that the whole SClub3/Party thing ruined it a bit. It just felt like 7 individuals as opposed to a group like take that/steps etc. I just think the whole thing was so half arsed it didn't have any of the sparkle with it.

I'd really like to know what Jo, Jon and Rachel (?) were going to be talking about on Lorraine back in June/July.
Wasn't it Loose Women? Not that it matters, maybe there was plans to carry on the reunion but then they scrapped it?

Listened to Rain again just now for the first times in months.

It is a pretty stellar track. Jon, Bradley and of course Jo really shine on it. It's a shame they couldn't even recall recording it.

Perfect scenario would have been;

- S Club 7 Children in Need Performance
- Press Release to confirm revised Greatest Hits (with at lease one new song - a Christmas single? Potentially a deluxe edition with bonus CD of B-sides and remixes) and reunion tour in 2015.
- Various TV performances in Nov/Dec to promote new single.
- Re-release of TV show on DVD/BluRay format in time for Christmas (or at least some re-runs on TV)
- Christmas special 'Audience With' on ITV (or at least Channel 5/ITV2 etc.) with performances of classic songs, new single and various 'skits' / comedy sketches.

[Break for Christmas]

- A few smaller gigs in the New Year / TV performances and interviews in preparation for the full tour.

- 2015 Tour

- Tell all book and/or documentary series on ITV2/Sky/Channel 5 etc. about the band, their split, their reunion and the tour (with clips from the tour footage).

[Tour Finishes]

- Tour DVD/BluRay release in time for Christmas 2015

Done.

But look at what we got and how it was all handled. Such a shame. Maybe I've gone off on one though...

When I asked Tina about it, she said it was to do with going into talks for another TV series. I guess no one got on board to fund it.

Perfect Christmas really is wonderful. Wish they had gone Double A-Side with it because it deserves to be well known.

I just listened to Jo's album in full.

Seriously dull but her voice is fabulous on record.

Relentless the track is the only other highlight outwith her cover of What Hurts the Most.

Relentless, You Didn't Know, Ease Your Pain, & the b-side The First Time are her best tracks. I'm surprised they thought they could promote/have success with such an MOR album. Maybe they were aiming for Kym Marsh-level succe$$ but the album certainly had no Cry/Come On Over.

This is spot on.. a lot of people I spoke to prior to the tickets going on sale simply kept saying, "I saw them at Leeds Uni.. they were awful". The whole club scene that Paul, Jo and Bradley have been doing killed off any momentum that could've been - there was no investment in them as a seven piece because everyone who grew up as a kid during the initial S Club era has drunkenly seen them mime at a uni SU.

It's a shame as it really was handled so badly.

The re-release came at a bizarre time rather than instantly after their Children In Need performance.

It needed a big upbeat number not a Cry.

Maybe, but I meant it needed songs as strong as Cry/Come On Over. Cry's Top 3 charting position certainly would have been satisfactory for Ms. O'Meara and co.

Jo probably wouldn't have ever done a "big upbeat number" regardless because of her injury/condition.

I really want to see S Club 3. Where can I see a list of upcoming gigs? I tried tweeting them but they didn't reply.

The whole thing was such a non-event, I get the feeling it was mostly a last-minute decision, rather than meticulously planned and there wasn't much interest/investment from certain members of the group.
