S08E24 & 25 - Seventh Live Shows

I'm convinced Janet will win now. After the atrocious past few weeks the public still kept her in and she's so damn popular.

Regardless of what Gary said in the past(and it's bit him in the ass) it's all about song choices now. All the acts can sing and perform but they need songs that will connect to the audience and show what type of music they will do in the future.

Since Kelly has the most contestants it will either be Amelia or Misha going home. Again they have to choose the right songs.

Unforunately, Kelly seems rubbish at picking songs especially for poor old Amelia. This is why I'm glad they're doing two songs next week. Double the chance of getting at least one good song.

But also doubling the chances of a really shit song.

Working on the theory that nobody in the bottom 2 can go on to win the only real contenders for the winning spot are Marcus, Janet and Little Mix.

I can see things going like this:

1. Marcus
2. Little Mix
3. Janet
4. Amelia
5. Misha B

As much as I like the guy, a part of me hopes Marcus doesn't win just because Gary's his mentor.

Brilliant result. I was so pleased when Craig went on first yesterday, even happier when he was singing a crap song, and having him eliminated has made this a good weekend for the X Factor. Contrary to what people have written here, I do think he sang very well in the sing-off, but it was definitely high time for the chubster.

I think Janet is probably going to walk it, but I'd prefer if she didn't. I've been having a look on Facebook, and found the number of 'likes' for each of the final eight (including both Amelia and Frankie). It's quite interesting:

1. Janet - 257,767
2. Frankie - 97,755
3. The Risk - 63,676
4. Marcus - 63,620
5. Little Mix - 55,663
6. Misha - 45,050
7. Johnny - 34,860
8. Amelia - 27,014
9. Kitty - 23,414

Seems a more reliable indicator than Youtube views, and explains Kitty and Misha languishing around the bottom of the vote most of the time. Also shows that, had the Risk not lost a member, they would probably be in with a shout of winning, and that Frankie was scarily more popular than we'd hoped.

Obviously we don't know how many likes were from first auditions and such, and eliminated acts won't have been getting the exposure so their falling behind could be fairly tautological. The trends in terms of weekly likes would be really useful, as Little Mix could be gaining on Janet, but for the time being she is miles above the rest in terms of popularity.

It's really the only way to save the show. I have no doubts Marcus has this in the bag, but at least we can give him some competition.

I know it's probably a bit too complicated for you to understand, but generally when an act comes bottom of the public vote so early on, they're not really competition at all.

Tonight, Craig waved goodbye and we are left with our final five acts.

I understand. But, that doesn't change the fact that they should still be there. Everyone agrees. How many votes they had (we don't even know by what margin) is irrelevant. They're on The X Factor Tour so they'll still be doing amazingly, so it doesn't matter.

The show doesn't need saving. I don't know how it's so difficult for you to understand that the public didn't vote to save them. If they were 'that good' I'm sure they could have managed a few more votes than Johnny Robinson, Frankie Fuckin' Have It Cocozza and the terminally unpopular Misha B(ully)*.

*I'm not calling Misha a bully, but that's why the public seem to dislike her.

Yeah...

It doesn't really matter, anyway. They've been eliminated, and it's about the final five. The rest are irrelevant in terms of the rest of the series.

People said on Twitter that when they voted it said 'Thank you for voting for Frankie' so that explains the votes. That's why they deserve a chance to come back and redeem themselves. That's probably why they are on the tour, because the X factor know they wrong.

I'm sure if that was really a massive problem it would have been investigated by Ofcom by now. You can't get away with phone vote-rigging since the scandals of a few years ago.

That's why they deserve a chance to come back and redeem themselves.

What about Sophie Habibis, who didn't get a chance to redeem herself with an uptempo? Or Sami, who was never allowed to break the cruise ship mould? Don't they deserve a chance to redeem themselves?

Oh wait, no. Because it's a competition.

That's probably why they are on the tour, because the X factor know they wrong.

That or Frankie breached his contract and won't be on the tour.

They should bring Then Risk back in.

I think it's good enough that they are included in the tour. They have all the chance to prove themselves when this season is over.

Every year when an act goes out and it's a surprise, people float these conspiracy theories around like "I tried to vote for x and got y". My brother works in telecommunications and I can tell you there's no way the phone vote could or would be rigged with all the regulation and scrutiny that goes on. The voting results don't lie, and eight other acts got more votes than The Risk. Although they're there to make up the numbers with Frankie leaving, it's nice The Risk will get to do their one song on the tour. It will probably be 'She Said', their own performance that wasn't mediocre in my opinion.
