Fucksake. I wouldn’t have bought it on vinyl if it had been pre–order on CD.
The same. If they didn’t already realise most of their fan base are CD collectors as well as/instead of vinyl fans then they really have no idea. Clearly a ploy…
There was lots of chat from Martin Kelly, their manager, on a recent Saint Etienne Facebook post saying CDs just aren’t worth their time compared to vinyl anymore. They’ll probably even lose money out of the small run for this fan club album but they do it for the fans. It was quite an interesting read.

Since we´re in confession mode: I´ve Been Trying...is the only SE album I haven´t even finished listening to in its entirety. With Home Cunties I managed at least two full rounds before I forgot about it. It´s not easy being a fan during the past decade.
I do think that with last two albums their better songs have been the odds n sods that have come out as stand alone singles or limited CDs. Words and Music was so good that what we’ve had since has felt disappointing

I loved it and still listen to it now. It's a beautiful album that restored my faith in the band as a musical project.
It was more interesting than Home Counties. But it just didn’t have enough Sarah front and centre
I like that I’ve Been Trying To Tell You is the band’s weird pandemic album. Perfect for the strange time it was crafted in. But looking forward to an album of bangers soon please.
