Yes. But one is a follow up to ‘I’ve been trying to tell you’ so not anticipating much there…
I love I’ve Been Trying To Tell You and played it all the time when it came out. But I’m also here for full–on Etienne pop.

I liked it but it didn’t take long before it was gathering dust on the shelf. I liked more of the subsidiary tracks from the era that were on singles and other releases so there is hope!
At least it lasted longer than Home Counties which I’m still not a fan of beyond a few tracks.
Home Counties clicked for me on vinyl. But, yeah, it’s my most meh album.
Home counties at least had Dive which is top tier Et.

Yeah, not too excited for a Pt. 2. Something about that album just didn't click for me. And this is coming from someone who even enjoyed those 'Surrey' EPs! So here's hoping...
I know it’s not a popular take but I’ve always been fascinated with how the band interacts and responds to contemporary trends. We’ve got the early ‘90s and madchester, the ‘00s with trance and Xenomania-style pop etc. I’ve Been Trying To Tell You was kind of their (belated) take on vaporwave. I’d love to see where they think they fit in the 2024 music scene (to new listeners and not just the loyal old fanbase).
The So Tough boxset is really beautiful, and the extras are really worth checking out. That demo of Paper is SO different from the finished version. I'm wondering if I've Been Trying To Tell You part 2 will have any of Alasdair McLellans involvement since he's done the new Pet Shop Boys video. His visuals for the album really helped make the whole thing feel special. I know it will never happen but I would love to hear a Saint Etienne/PSB collab someday.
The closest we have so far is Bob on backing vocals on Pandemonium.
I finally splurged on this, and it’s gorgeous. This version of Paper sounds like it could be on Lipslide. I kind of love it!
Also, unless I’m missing them, I can’t find the song credits anywhere in the box…?
I’ve been waiting for the price to drop but I can’t miss out on the Remains of the Day vinyl - which really is like another complete album with the So Tough sound. Also love the alternative Hobart Paving.
When can we expect a live show do you think? Realistically there may be a Christmas show ?
