Saint Etienne

I think they've stoked the ire of many with the exclusive "only available for three minutes on mixed Wednesdays while Michaelmas" Deep Into The Night EP which won't be available anywhere else unless they decide to change tack. Of course the CD will be available elsewhere, but the EP won't, until they find a box of them down the back of someone's couch.

Depends how many of the EP they pressed. By the look of it they had 2,000 items to sell today - 500 CDs then 300 and 1,200 of the two vinyl variants. It’s one EP per order, there will have been a lot of double-dipping on formats so unless they anticipated the level of double-dipping very well they may have pressed 2,000 and will have spares (to find behind the sofa later).

So judging by their social media post today, there will be more CDs and more vinyl, but they won’t come with the bonus CD. That’s how I’m reading it anyway.
It wouldn’t kill them to do another run judging by the response of the generally annoyed many who aren’t going to get the bonus CD.

Did they really think 3000 would be enough for the demand with the release of a new album? It’s not as if it’s one of their many reissues they’re trying to tempt us with.

I sat this one out. Mostly because I wasn't very impressed by 'Character of Saint Etienne,' and couldn't justify making a purchase just for the risky bonus EP. I liked the 'Surrey' EPs after 'Home Counties,' (Forty Light Years is a gem!), but 'Character' felt so insignificant to me...
