Sam Smith - Gloria

This, I agree with everything you said. Except that I don't enjoy the song. Although a drag queen this weekend performed it and like it was fine when a drag queen was performing it... But I also have no idea why this is what Sam and Kim are singing about. And every time I post about this in this thread I wait for someone to hit me with the "Well, Sam was inspired by ____" and it never comes so I just don't think there is a reason.

Also I am feeling some ick for this being the coattails riding moment that has gotten Kim on a #1 song. Not deserved.

I take the song to be about straight men having fun with queer people before going back to their vanilla heterosexual relationship. Or maybe I am just putting my own personal experiences in the song.

Oooh so mommy doesn't know daddy is getting it on with a guy at the body shop (for some reason) doing unholy things? Oh wow the song makes sense now hahaha.

They kind of hinted in the interview that they were unleashing more of their sexuality on the record and that Love Goes was more of a transition period for them to slowly express that side of themself. Hoping this means we do get some actual bops on the album.

I’ve (despite the lead) got a good feeling about the album from the things they’ve said. Don’t let me down Sam.

TWO songs with Jessie Reyez is bad enough but an Ed Sheeran duet called "Who We Love"...
