SCHMIGADOON!

The trailer looks so good, last season was good, this cast is so good... I could not be more excited for this next set of episodes.

Did I miss (or just forget) the fact they actually got out of Schmigadoon at the end of season one?
So in the final episode they start to walk across the bridge and it cuts to black

Now I assumed they would cross the bridge and Schmicago would be on the other side.

But according to the trailer, seems like they return to their mundane lives, get bored and try to go back to Schmigadoon

So I'm sold on this season so far, and not just because of Aaron's arms

Are they not releasing the episode soundtracks each week this time? I can't seem to find the first two.

I actually think this season is even better than the first! Maybe it’s because I’m more familiar with the musicals being covered in this era but this is really working for me.

This season has been even more inventive and clever with its musical mashups. The Mrs Lovett / Havisham crossover song from Kristen in episode 3 was INSPIRED. I am loving this season.

They have knocked it out the park with this season. You can tell the writers / actors are having so much more fun with the musical references this time round. They have so much to play with. I hope they continue the trend with further seasons. Schmamilton? Schmicked? A Disney musical parody could also work well.

Les Schmiserables!

Since this whole season has been the 70s, next season that focuses on the 80s power ballad musicals like Phantom, Les Mis, etc. would be ripe with material as well.

One episode in and I think I’ll enjoy this setting a lot more.
Though I already slightly miss the sense of mystery season one had (but since nothing ever really got explained I guess I’ll just accept it’s not that kind of show)

This season has been incredible so far. Bells & Whistles made me scream, the Not Getting Married section was great! Jane Krakowski is just such an unbelievable talent.

Given that this season has been covering the 60s/70s musicals, it seems inevitable that next season will have to go for 80s megamusicals which there is just so much to mine from since a lot of them were absolutely bonkers to begin with - Jane parodying herself in Starlight Express would be low key iconic.

The scope of musicals they could use in future seasons is salivating, especially with the talent the show already has. Phantom is an obvious one, so is les Mis (be interesting to see Aaron Tveit there since he was in the movie version) Wicked would be fun too. I'd like to see Disney ones but I doubt they'd be able to?
