Scream 7 *SPOILERS*

It would have been such a neat touch if they were able to bring back a character that did appear in Scream, as Sam's mum will likely have been someone in their year at school, and possibly at the party at Stu's house.

Marisol Nichols!

She feels like such an ominous presence though. I need her to be the next ghost face
I truly don’t think that she is though? Whenever she’s mentioned it’s to explain why the hell a mother wouldn’t be with her daughters while this is happening. She’s just a bad mother.

He/him
There's too many deliberate mentions of her for us not to meet her. She could have just been dead. Why bother bringing her up at all?

The fact she had a daughter with a notorious serial killer, and that daughter then went on to be implicated in copycat murders and develop her own psychological issues, makes Mrs Carpenter a potentially really interesting character. How troubled is she herself?

I get that, but I just…don’t see it. For me, the references are to answer the question the audience would have about why Christina wouldn’t be there when one of her daughters was brutally attacked, or why she’s still not around when both of her daughters move to New York after narrowly surviving the ensuing bloodbath.

Yes Bailey was a psycho, but he moved to be near his kids. The fact that Christina didn’t underscores how detached she is as a mother, and also why Sam leaving Tara behind in Woodsboro was such a big deal in the first place.

Bringing her into the fray only to make her be Ghostface would be a silly move, as it’s both obvious, and thematically bankrupt. That’s not to say it won’t ever happen, but I really hope they can pull something more interesting out of the bag for 7.

She/They
The only reason they’d need to bring the mother into it is if she’s the opening kill in VII. We have zero attachment to her but it would be some form of catalyst into a story at least. Other than that, keep her away from the plot because it’ll just be to rehash what we already sat through in 5cream or some ridiculous fan service of “look, she’s the girl whose back of the head Sidney walked past in the hallway in 1996”

I was gonna say Salma might be too old (56) for the role considering Billy was 18 when he died and Sam is now 25 but then I googled Skeet and he's 53 nn. And Melissa is way older than Sam is in the movies (32).

If they were to follow the in-movie age logic then the actress playing Christina should be around 43, but I suppose they should get someone in their late 40s/early 50s for it to make more sense with Skeet and Melissa's ages.

I just hope they don’t get too soapy with that if they do bring the mother in.

Christina going after Sidney in “7” for “always being the center of attention with Billy” when they were in high school and “taking her daughters away” later in life after their Ghostface attacks and they seem to care more about Sidney than their own mother could be a fun campy moment, but… this isn’t Days of Our Lives.

It'd be cute to have a nice cameo for her, but I'm cool with her being the opening kill.

Tara's dad is also on the board. He probably really detests Sam. But we don't know anything about him.
