Just a heads up, the latest insider rumor is that the studio wants to move on without Jenna for Scream 7. Her schedule is too busy and they don’t wanna delay the film.

If this happens I know people will go crazy, but we just had a movie without NEVE so I ain’t gonna complain. There are enough survivors that if one needs to sit a sequel out, we will live.

Lots of people thought Scream 6 did so well because of Jenna. At least one big factor anyways. Melissa has two movie's back to back also. I could see them not releasing until early 2025. I would rather wait for everyone including Radio Silence.

Jenna is doing Beetlejuice 2 now and then Wednesday Season 2 so she is fully booked this year.

Except of course if she is the opening kill, then she would find 2-3 days for that.

I‘d rather they wait until next year to shoot so they also have Radio Silence. With all these projects Jenna will remain popular and Mellissa‘s star is rising too so please be just a bit patient Paramount.

I think they should just make her the opening kill or wait until everyone is free. It wouldn’t make sense to just continue with the current story without Tara.

I can’t think of anything less likely than the studio moving forward without one of the biggest stars on the planet right now (who they probably have contractually obligated to star in a sequel)… it’s not realistic.

I can deal with her travelling in Europe or whatever for one film but not killing her off. I feel the sister relationship is the heart of the new films

I never put anything past these studios, especially when it comes to women. Of course we see their value, but these largely male studio heads?! Especially after what they did to Neve, I just have to remain skeptical.

Even if Jenna didn't have time to do more than a week of shooting they could still have her in the movie but would be a reduced role like it was for Sidney last time and Gale in VI. That doesn't mean she needs to be killed off either.

Scream 4 proved that a name alone can't compensate for a timing miscalculation. Teen horror moves in cycles for the casuals, you can see why they want another one ASAP while people still have the apetite.

In general this could be a blessing in disguise. They have more than enough people who can return. Just like Sidney’s exit will build anticipation for her return, the Sam’s could be said for Jenna returning in 8.

I’m personally at the point (now that Mindy established it’s a franchise) that they should NOT bring everybody back every time. Shake up the formula and use people in meaningful ways. Tbh, at this point they should be able to write out anybody if needed. Scream isn’t set in one city so you can easily justify someone not being there. Tara could literally be in London for a trip or college and simply can’t make it back in time. They could also feature her in a cameo or smaller role.

All this handwringing for a film that hasn’t been officially announced yet!

Paramount/Spyglass are savvy, especially after the Neve fiasco, and they’ll absolutely want one of the main reasons people went to see 6 to be in the next sequel. They’ll absolutely have a plan to facilitate that, whoever ends up directing it.

Mason is so cute and hot. After not really getting the hype for him in Scream 5 (not helped by his "death" scene being the weakest in that movie) I am now a little Chaddy. He is so damn likable and I need more minus his shirt.

CineStealth is now saying early to mid next year for filming due to the writer’s strike and holdups beyond just Jenna. Melissa’s movie with Radio Silence is going forward as the script is already complete and once the strike is over, Jasmin’s contract with Yellowjackets takes precedence over Scream.

If Wednesday season 2 follows the same filming schedule, Jenna will be free after March.

I just don’t see how you tie Sam’s story into the twins’ without Tara. I think we’ll get the Core 4 in the next movie, and I’d definitely rather wait a little longer for that to happen.
