Sam went to Woodsboro for Tara. She went to New York for Tara. I don't know how it works without that duo.
These movies take place in 2-3 days. Tara could be out of town and simply not able to make it in time.
Look I understand the film has its fans but I don't want a repeat of Scream 3 where they rushed it, Neve is only really in the third act and the movie is a mess. Just take the time to get it right, especially if it's Radio Silence's last film.
Out of all the films, I feel like Scream 3 used Sidney the best since the first film and it was Sidney’s strongest arc and Neve’s best performance in the franchise. She was used perfectly in that film.
Neve's "Sidney" in every final act in perfection, minus 4. The kitchen scene bothers me to no end. I get that she redeems herself with the defibrillator paddles to Emma Roberts' head and iconic one liner in the hospital, but... it just felt so wrong to have her not fight hard. If they bring her back for 7, I hope we'll get another tour de force.
Don't know if this is old information but Jenna has also been cast in the Beetlejuice sequel.
Latest rumors are that they’re working through the scheduling issues with Melissa, Jenna and the directors and the hope is still to film late this year for a 2024 release.

A great question. I also wonder if Kirby or Gale would return. I feel like 6 positioned things in a way that I am open to any character combination. I do hope at least one character sits it out so they can have room to bring on new people and continue to expand the story.
If Neve does return though, I want it to count and not just be fan service.
I go back and forth on it as well. 5 was such a great send-off for her, "I'll survive. I always do."
But 6's "she deserves her happy ending" just felt like a rushed explanation as to why she's not there. Sid not being in New York made sense for the story, but as fans, she was definitely a missing piece. I am just such a fan of hers and would love to see her back on screen in any capacity.
My biggest hope is that Ghostface has a different target other than Sam or Sidney. Now that’s not to say you can’t keep Sam/Sid in an important role, but I think it would be interesting if the focus was on someone else.
It would also throw them off and enhance the mystery element because everyone would assume it’s someone from Sam or Sid’s past. Would be iconic if Mindy finally made it to the third act only to find out Ghostface is coming for her.

Not confirmation, but when asked at a fan expo this past weekend, Neve said she couldn’t discuss if she’ll be in Scream 7. To me, that at least says they’re in talks which doesn’t surprise me.
I just hope Spyglass/Paramount close the deal. We know the creatives want her and we know the fans want her, so they just need to close the deal this time.

It would be interesting to see how they bring Sidney back into the fold.
Definitely a change from the instant denial when asked about Scream 6.
Originally she did say they had a script, approached her, and were talking. And then the next conference she was at, she flat out said no. Paramount/SpyGlass definitely fucked it up quickly.
