Selena Gomez - I Said I Love You First

So what's this album's "It's hard getting older burning toast in my toaster" "metaphorial gin and juice"?
I feel like she thought she was going to have a moment with ‘We're not gettin' any younger but your girlfriends seem to’ line… except Taylor already did this much better in All Too Well.

Just like Rare, there are genuinely good tracks here that could have been great in other people's hands. Also, the references to Lana, Charli, Kali Uchis etc are too literal. That being said, I can enjoy the first half of the album on days that I take things easy.

Ff I think I kinda love Sunset Blvd. are parts stupid? Yes. Are parts cringe-worthy? Sure. Is it an earworm? Definitely. Is the chorus and sentiment actually quite nice? I think they might be!

At a time when people are fainting at Sabrina Carpenter’s presentation of her sexuality, maybe we need more slightly silly sex songs.

But they also need to be good!

So... is she releasing more from the Stained / Fetish / Bad Liar era? Or is this the one song that they're just tagging as a bonus track to this album?

Stained is really nice, very reminiscent of Fetish and Good For You.

I don’t think it’s impossible we get more but I think Stained was the only song actually spoken about by Benny/Selena.

Today they did a digital download with ‘narration’ rather than a song.

Apparently “Don’t Take It Personally” was a real conversation, and someone had said that to Selena. Wild

I understand the logic behind these digital releases and I’m sure these tracks will end up on streaming anyway but using this one in an ad and promoting it prior to the albums release to have it be released this way is a choice!

Yeah the album would've faired much better had it just been her billed. Certain songs are increasing in streams daily, and I think it comes down to people initially not wanting to click play on a "couple" album and discovering it's a pretty standard solo affair.
