Self Esteem - Prioritise Pleasure

Anybody else been to the current tour? I went to the first Manchester date yesterday, it ended up being the first time I'd been to a gig alone because my friend had to drop out last minute. I was a bit anxious about going alone but pushed through as it's what Rebecca would want (also, literally nobody noticed or cared that I was alone because why would they).

Wonderful, life affirming show. She performed two new songs, one of which was called 'Mother' and if there's any justice it will be a staple of homosexual establishments the world over by the end of the year. I've spent all day singing 'I am not your Mother, I am not your Mother, I'm not your Mum' under my breath. It was giving Drag Race alumni debut single (but like, one of the good ones). There's some video of it in this article.

It's not my preference, but I've been to a few gigs solo (after previously saying I never would) and you're right, no one does notice or care, nor does it matter if you're at a really great gig.

Going on Monday in Glasgow, looking forward to seeing her deservedly in a much bigger venue than last time.

She was GODLY tonight - the 2 new songs are lit and should definitely win around more people here. Moody, Girl Crush and You Forever were my highlights (as well as Prioritise Pleasure and I Do This All The Time of course). Her voice is great, and there’s so much about her on stage that gives me Madonna vibes.

She was phenomenal last night in Oxford. Mother is absolutely massive. I can’t wait for it to be released. All of the tracks worked so well in a live setting.

She was speaking about how everyone has a bad experience in Oxford and wanting to reclaim that last night. However she spoke about a bad experience at the Oxford hotel and that she wasn’t going to be staying there but travelling to Sheffield after the gig. She then performed a really intimate version of John Elton, but part way through someone fainted (I think - it was very hot). She stopped. One of her singers/dancers did a little jig. Once the person was ok she tried to pick up where she left off. Cue some swearing and damn Oxford, but she recovered well. Great stage prescience and sounded great throughout.

Lots of people I know have gone to see her live recently and been blown away by what a phenomenal, charismatic performer she is. Including several who have specifically said they struggled with her a bit at first but persevered because of how I and others were hyping her up so strongly. So keep at it, tastemakers! (think it's also relevant that it's been a great year for growing a feeling of millennial frustration that I think she taps into but don't think about that)

It's incredibly gratifying to see someone you've followed since the start get so much praise, especially for this tour. The promo has been astonishing. Even my husband jokes about her being on anything and everything and it's definitely worked. I trust her to absolutely knock it out of the park for album 3 because she's put the work in and definitely deserves it.

I'll tell you something though, the age range for her was the wildest I've seen in ages. I was surrounded by 50+ people who all absolutely loved her. I was almost expecting to be bustling among twenty year olds but I actually felt really young!

I was also sat next to Tom Rasmussen's dad throughout Tom's set and he told me he'd been to every single one of their performances on this tour. What a dad!
