Shakira - Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

Come on it only has a good chorus and a nice Eurythmicy intro, but the verses are lazy lazy lazy - and I am not loving the Paradisio wigs.

If you don''t know Paradisio, check out Bailando, awesomeness!

I love paradisio''''s bailando. I think it''''s screaming for a cover.
Si señor, efectos especiales!
this is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAXG4hb_E44

Si señor! I was OBSESSED with that in 1997. Marisa (I think that was her name) was totally ahead of her time the hair department.

I love the song (but have done for ages) and the video is fantastic, who knew she could work purple hair and a skirt so well?

Yeah this vid has been out for a while but thanks for mentioning it - its amazing. More videos should feature purple wigs and plastic wrap and schoolgirls flashing their knickers. The song is fantastic and Shakira is a f**king goddess.

I am a Shakira fan but I have to say this is rubbish. I like the Spanish version of the song, but the English version just sounds horrible. It doesn''t sound English most of the time.

Very bad translation. Seems so rushed, both the writing and recording. I know her English isn''t great, but it''s not THAT bad.

The video is good though, if a bit cheap. Fair enough considering how old the song is.

BTW, the ''English Version'' video on youtube is just the spanish video with the english track played over the top.

I normally like Shakira, but she sounds like a disco goat in the English version. I have absolutely no idea what she is saying.

A few shots look like ''Something Kinda Ooooh''

I really quite love the English version. I tend to not "do" shakira, but this song is very lovely. It feels almost kylie-esque (which is of course WONDERFUL).

What is a "disco-goat" b.t.w ? It made me chuckle.

I prefer the English version for what it''s worth but there is a repition to suggest it was a tad rushed. It''s her best tune in my opinion - I love the music to it, and that sort of foggy bit reminds me of Soft Cell''s Torch. It also has an ending that you just cling on to it''s so gorgeous.

I was used to the spanish version so the english one sounded odd to me at first but now that I listen to it again it is actually really good - she''s a great lyricist in either language

Anyone heard this? It's divine
Very floaty and passionate, with a gorgeous video

It's from the film "Love In The Time Of Cholera", and she is releasing an EP of tracks from it.

I personally prefer some of Shakira's Latin Music.... "La Pared", "Las de la Intuicion" - (AMAZING) - "No", "Estoy Aqui", "Mocas en la Casa" and "Si Te Vas" remain very high at the top of my favourite songs by her...

Opinions?

I'm not a fan of it as a song but I'm sure it'll work well within the context of the film. I find a lot of her Spanish songs (especially album tracks) to be very same-y and I don't have much time for them.

All that said, one of my favourite Shakira songs is one of her Spanish songs - Ciega, Sordomuda is perfect.

I hope that she comes back with a "proper" English album soon. Oral Fixation Vol. 2 was so lacklustre and the promotion was a complete mess. Animal City and Timor were surefire hits and she just pissed them up a wall.
